Role Description In this full-time, on-site Mechatronics Engineer role based in Dubai, the engineer will design, develop, and integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems for interactive installations and experiential technologies. Daily tasks include translating creative concepts into technical specifications, building prototypes, selecting and integrating sensors, actuators, controllers, and related hardware, and ensuring reliable operation of installations. The engineer will perform testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance, as well as support setup and teardown for events and permanent spaces. Collaboration with designers, software engineers, and project managers is essential to deliver robust, safe, and engaging interactive experiences that meet client requirements and project timelines.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Mechatronics skills, including system integration, automation, and control of interactive and experiential hardware. Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering and Electronics skills, such as circuit design, wiring, power distribution, and sensor/actuator integration. Candidates should possess Electromechanics and Maintenance & Repair skills, including diagnostics, mechanical assembly, and hands-on equipment upkeep. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related field. Experience with microcontrollers, PLCs, and embedded systems; familiarity with industrial communication protocols is an advantage. Basic proficiency in CAD tools and an understanding of mechanical design principles for fixtures, mounts, and enclosures. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, and to apply safety standards and best practices in electrical and mechanical work. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams under event-driven timelines. Comfort working on-site at venues, with occasional evening or weekend work as required by project schedules.
