Job Details

  • Lead and oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions of the company, ensuring compliance with IFRS, UAE regulations, and internal financial policies.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

  • Manage project accounting activities for multiple construction and infrastructure projects.

  • Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and cost-to-complete analysis to ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Review and reconcile project-wise revenues, costs, subcontractor payments, material purchases, and overhead allocations.

  • Ensure accurate accounting treatment of Work-in-Progress (WIP), accrued costs, retention receivables/payables, advance payments, and project provisions.

  • Monitor project cash flows, payment certificates, client billing, collections, and supplier/subcontractor liabilities.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Commercial Teams, Procurement, and Quantity Surveyors to ensure financial accuracy of project reporting.

  • Perform detailed variance analysis between budgeted and actual project costs, highlighting financial risks and opportunities.

  • Review subcontractor invoices, progress payment certificates, variations, claims, and final account settlements.

  • Manage bank facilities, project financing, guarantees, letters of credit, and performance bonds.

  • Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, corporate tax requirements, and statutory reporting obligations.

  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.

  • Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and group-level reporting requirements where applicable.

  • Develop and strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and accounting procedures across projects.

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team to ensure efficiency, compliance, and timely reporting.


Construction-Specific Technical Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of Construction Accounting and Project Cost Control.

  • Monitor Job Costing, Cost Codes, Budget Tracking, and Earned Value Reporting.

  • Manage Revenue Recognition under IFRS 15 (Percentage of Completion Method).

  • Review WIP Schedules and Cost-to-Complete Forecasting.

  • Control Retention Accounting, Advance Payments, Performance Bonds, and Bank Guarantees.

  • Monitor Project Claims, Variations, Extension of Time (EOT) Financial Impact, and Commercial Recoveries.

  • Analyze project profitability and margin performance across multiple projects.

  • Coordinate with Commercial and QS teams for cost reporting and project financial forecasting.

  • Review procurement commitments and subcontractor financial exposure.

  • Ensure proper accounting treatment of mobilization costs, project overheads, and indirect costs.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.

    • CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.


    Experience

    • Minimum 8–12 years of accounting and finance experience.

    • Minimum 5 years in Construction, Contracting, Infrastructure, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, MEP, or EPC companies within the GCC/UAE.

    • Experience handling multiple large-scale construction projects is mandatory.


    Technical Skills

    • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Construction Accounting Standards.

    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

    • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, ERPNext, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.

    • Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
