Chief Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and financial controls. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial records while supporting management with reliable financial information and insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations.

  • Supervise and guide the accounting team and ensure the timely completion of accounting activities.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

  • Monitor the General Ledger (GL) and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.

  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, bank reconciliations, and cash flow activities.

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and cost-control reports.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, VAT requirements, and company policies.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support audit requirements.

  • Review financial records and identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of financial information.

  • Support management with financial analysis and recommendations for informed decision-making.


Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent are preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, Lead Accountant, or Accounting Manager.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, General Ledger, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial controls.

  • Experience in VAT, corporate tax, and statutory compliance is preferred.

  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar systems.

  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.

  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
