The Finance Manager will lead the organization's finance function, ensuring robust financial governance, project financial control, treasury management, management reporting, statutory compliance, and strategic business support across multiple construction projects. The incumbent will drive financial planning, project profitability, cash flow optimization, ERP implementation, digital finance transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with local legislation and Group financial reporting requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
Management Reporting & Financial Planning
Provide strategic financial guidance to executive management, that support growth and profitability.
Prepare all financial statements and management reports and dashboards including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the market and Group, including but not limited to variance analyses, budgets & forecasts, cash flows, P/Ls, balance sheets, project accounting, etc., ensuring alignment with Group reporting packages and standards.
Lead annual budgeting exercises, including forecasting, developing long-term financial models, monitoring & control of departmental budgets. Analyse & report on deviations & corrective actions.
Project Accounting & Financial Control
Lead all building construction project accounting activities throughout the project lifecycle, including funding requirements, monitoring project costs, revenues, margins, profitability, budgets & forecast accuracy, allocation of direct & indirect costs, revenue recognition, milestone payments & applications, retention balances & recovery, project close-out & final accounts settlements. Review project financial performance with PMs, commercial & management teams.
Maintain and report consolidated project portfolio performance, capturing all ongoing projects.
Banking & Financial Institutions
Manage end-to-end processes of all banking instruments including Performance Bonds, Advance Payment Guarantees, Bid Bonds, Retention Guarantees, Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit (LCs) including bank processes & negotiations, expiration dates, & renewals of facilities, and coordinating with the respective teams to ensure contractual requirements are met.
Maintain strong relationships with local and international banks, lead all company-banking processes, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
ERP Implementation & Digital Transformation
Lead digital transformation mandates & initiatives on SAP FICO & other relevant modules and software.
Ensure finance reporting & other exercises are SAP/ digitally driven, improving overall reporting & controls.
Financial Controls & Governance
Manage AP / AR processes including collections, payment planning, & receivables.
Develop and maintain strong internal control frameworks, ensuring compliance with group, internal and local policies & regulations.
Strengthen governance across project finance operations and review financial procedures and recommend improvements.
Partner with other departments to develop and implement finance and cross-functional policies and processes.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure local and international regulatory compliance including IFRS, Local accounting standards, VAT regulations, Corporate Tax. Lead audit process with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities. Monitor & assess the local financial legislative landscape and develop implementation plans.
Ensure company & project insurances are in place, including but not limited to WC, TPL, CAR, etc. and others.
Identify financial risks & exposure across company, projects & contracts, and implementing mitigation plans. Review and provide input on project contracts, reviewing contractual obligations, payments terms, and other considerations during the contract review phase.
