Role Description The Pipe Structure Fabricator is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Arab Emirates, working primarily in workshops and project sites. In this role, the fabricator reads and interprets engineering drawings and isometric sketches, measures and marks materials, and cuts, bends, and shapes pipes and structural components using appropriate tools and machinery. Day-to-day tasks include fitting, tack welding, and preparing pipe assemblies and support structures, ensuring alignment, tolerance, and quality standards are met before final welding. The fabricator coordinates with welders, supervisors, and other trades to complete fabrication and installation tasks safely and efficiently, following company procedures and site safety regulations. The role may also involve assisting with material handling, basic maintenance of tools and equipment, and reporting any issues that could affect quality, schedule, or safety.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, isometrics, and fabrication sketches for pipes and structural supports. Hands-on experience in measuring, cutting, beveling, and preparing pipes and steel sections using hand tools and power tools. Skilled in fitting and assembling pipe structures, including alignment, marking, and preparation for welding. Knowledge of basic welding principles and collaboration with welders to complete structural fabrication work. Understanding of industrial safety standards, use of personal protective equipment, and safe handling of materials and machinery. Previous experience in pipe fabrication, structural fabrication, or related industrial trades, preferably in construction, oil and gas, or engineering projects. Ability to work in on-site conditions, including workshops and field locations, and to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, standing, and working in varied positions. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow instructions and project specifications accurately. Basic communication skills in English and ability to work effectively within a diverse team. Relevant vocational training or certification in fabrication, pipe fitting, or a related technical discipline is an advantage.
