Job Details


AML/CFT Monitoring & Investigations

  • Monitor customer transactions across exchange, remittance, and other digital services and investigate unusual or suspicious activities in accordance with AML/CFT requirements.

  • Perform customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring of high-risk customers and transactions.

  • Conduct transaction monitoring and behavioral analysis across exchange, remittance, and digital channels to identify unusual patterns, account misuse, and emerging financial crime typologies.

  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and other AML-related regulatory reports with the relevant authorities.

  • Escalate significant AML concerns, breaches, or suspicious activities to the Compliance Officer or Alternate Compliance Officer.

Sanctions Screening

  • Review and resolve sanctions screening alerts, verify potential matches, and escalate confirmed matches as required.

  • Perform periodic testing and validation of sanctions screening effectiveness, maintain evidence of list updates, and ensure alignment with internal policies and applicable requirements.

AML Policies, Procedures & Controls

  • Support the development, maintenance, and periodic update of AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Assist in embedding AML/CFT/CPF controls into business processes and customer journeys.

AML Reviews, Testing & Risk Assessment

  • Conduct AML compliance reviews and risk assessments to identify potential gaps, vulnerabilities, and areas requiring corrective action.

  • Conduct periodic testing of AML systems, transaction monitoring scenarios, sanctions screening controls, and customer due diligence processes.

  • Track AML-related remediation actions and ensure timely closure of findings.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate AML and sanctions monitoring reports and provide analysis and recommendations to management.

  • Analyze transaction trends, customer risk ratings, and alert volumes across exchange, remittance, and digital channels to identify emerging financial crime risks and recommend enhancements.

Regulatory Engagement & Audit Support (AML Scope)

  • Respond to AML-related regulatory inquiries, Internal Enquiry Management System (IEMS) requests, and other financial crime communications.

  • Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and independent reviews on AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions matters by providing required information and documentation.


Stakeholder Support & Training

  • Provide AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions guidance to business units and employees.

  • Assist in developing and delivering AML training and awareness programs to promote a strong financial crime compliance culture.

  • Work closely with Fraud, Operations, Product, Risk, and Regulatory Compliance teams to ensure appropriate escalation and reporting on activities involving financial crime risk.

Records Management & Other Duties

  • Maintain accurate AML records and documentation in accordance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.

  • Stay informed of changes in AML/CFT/CPF laws, sanctions regimes, and financial crime typologies relevant to exchange, remittance, and digital business.

  • Perform any other AML/CFT/CPF, sanctions, or financial crime duties assigned by the Compliance Officer or Alternate Compliance Officer.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, Economics, or a related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in AML/CFT compliance, risk, audit, banking, exchange, remittance, fintech, or a related function.

  • Basic understanding of AML/CFT/CPF principles, sanctions compliance, customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), transaction monitoring, and suspicious transaction reporting.

  • Knowledge of UAE AML/CFT regulations and relevant guidance issued by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), Ministry of Economy, and UAE Financial Intelligence Unit.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review and interpret transactional and customer information.

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • Good organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • The candidate must be available and able to work in rotating 8-hour shifts in a 24/7 operational environment based on requirements.

  • Experience within financial services, banking, exchange houses, remittance businesses, fintechs, or other regulated environments.

  • Understanding of UAE financial services operations and customer onboarding processes.

  • Exposure to AML transaction monitoring systems, sanctions screening tools, or case management platforms

  • Professional certification or progress toward certification such as CAMS, ICA, ACAMS Cryptocurrency Certification, or other relevant financial crime qualifications

  • Familiarity with digital payments, stored value facilities (SVF), digital wallets, card issuing, or remittance products

  • Experience supporting regulatory audits, examinations, or compliance reviews.
