Role Description The Procurement Assistant / Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Coordinator is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting end-to-end purchasing and procurement activities. This position assists in managing purchasing processes, preparing and tracking purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. The role includes obtaining quotes, comparing pricing and terms, verifying compliance with internal policies, and maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation. The coordinator will work closely with academic and administrative teams to understand needs, support budget adherence, and help optimize procurement workflows. Daily tasks also involve monitoring order status, resolving discrepancies, and contributing to continuous improvement of purchasing procedures. Qualifications Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and purchasing best practices; ability to support end-to-end procurement cycles. Experience creating, reviewing, and tracking purchase orders and related documentation with attention to detail. Practical experience in purchasing and procurement activities, including vendor coordination and basic contract or quote evaluation. Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple requests, and prioritize tasks. Proficiency with office productivity tools and basic ERP or procurement systems (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, purchasing modules). Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with a focus on accuracy and compliance with institutional policies. Relevant education in administration, supply chain, business, or a related field; prior experience in academic or cultural institutions is an advantage.
