Cybersecurity Engineer – Ireland

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in Ireland. The successful candidate will help protect systems, networks, applications, and data from evolving cyber threats while supporting the organisation’s overall security and risk-management strategy. This is an opportunity to work on security operations, threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and security improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents, and potential threats. Support security incident response and remediation activities. Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. Implement and maintain security controls across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. Analyse security logs and identify suspicious activity. Assist with security risk assessments and compliance requirements. Work with IT, cloud, development, and infrastructure teams to improve security posture. Support security awareness and best-practice initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents, controls, and procedures. Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.3–7 years of relevant cybersecurity experience. Strong understanding of network security, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response. Experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, or related technologies. Familiarity with cloud security concepts across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage. Knowledge of security frameworks and industry best practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Comp TIA Security+, or cloud-security certifications are advantageous.
