About the Job Role Description A Seafood Sales Manager / Seafood Packaging Associate is responsible for supporting the commercial and operational activities of a seafood business, including customer sales, account management, seafood product coordination, order fulfillment, packaging, quality checks, and inventory support. The role requires a strong understanding of seafood products, customer requirements, product handling, packaging standards, and cold-chain operations. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, suppliers, warehouse teams, packaging personnel, logistics providers, and management to ensure seafood orders are handled accurately and delivered according to agreed requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage and support daily seafood sales and customer-service activities. Develop relationships with restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, catering companies, wholesalers, retailers, and other seafood buyers. Identify new business opportunities and expand the existing customer base. Maintain regular communication with existing customers and understand their purchasing requirements. Provide customers with accurate information regarding seafood varieties, sizes, grades, availability, pricing, and delivery schedules. Recommend suitable seafood products according to customer specifications and budget. Prepare quotations, sales orders, invoices, and related commercial documentation. Follow up on quotations, pending orders, customer requests, and outstanding sales opportunities. Coordinate customer orders with purchasing, warehouse, packaging, and delivery teams. Confirm product quantities, specifications, packaging requirements, and delivery instructions before order processing. Monitor order progress and communicate changes or delays to customers promptly. Maintain accurate customer profiles, order records, pricing information, and sales documentation. Handle customer complaints, product concerns, delivery issues, and after-sales requests professionally. Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve service quality. Track sales performance and support the achievement of monthly and annual revenue targets. Prepare sales summaries, customer reports, forecasts, and performance updates for management. Monitor market demand, competitor activity, customer preferences, and seafood pricing trends. Assist management with developing sales strategies and customer-retention initiatives. Coordinate with suppliers to confirm seafood availability, quality, quantity, pricing, and delivery schedules. Assist with receiving and inspecting incoming seafood shipments. Check seafood products for freshness, appearance, odor, temperature, quantity, and packaging condition. Separate or report products that do not meet established quality requirements. Organize seafood according to species, product type, size, grade, customer order, and storage requirements. Prepare seafood products for packaging according to approved specifications. Weigh products accurately and verify quantities against customer orders. Select appropriate food-grade packaging materials for different seafood products. Pack seafood in accordance with company procedures and applicable food-safety requirements. Ensure packages are properly sealed, labeled, dated, and prepared for storage or transportation. Verify product labels, batch information, weight, product descriptions, and handling instructions. Maintain appropriate chilled or frozen conditions during preparation and packaging. Monitor product temperatures and immediately report cold-chain deviations. Ensure packaged seafood is protected from contamination, leakage, physical damage, and improper handling. Arrange packaged products in designated refrigerated or frozen storage areas. Follow stock rotation procedures and monitor products according to their shelf-life requirements. Conduct routine inventory checks and assist with reconciliation of physical and recorded stock. Monitor packaging materials and request replenishment when necessary. Inspect cartons, trays, bags, labels, containers, seals, and other packaging supplies. Minimize seafood waste through accurate handling, proper storage, efficient packaging, and stock rotation. Maintain clean and hygienic preparation and packaging areas. Clean and sanitize food-contact surfaces, utensils, equipment, weighing scales, and workstations according to established procedures. Follow HACCP principles, food-safety procedures, hygiene standards, and workplace safety requirements. Maintain records relating to receiving, inspection, temperature monitoring, packaging, inventory, and dispatch activities. Support seafood traceability procedures and ensure relevant product information can be identified when required. Verify finished orders before dispatch to ensure the correct products and quantities are included. Coordinate with logistics teams regarding delivery times, customer addresses, temperature requirements, and special instructions. Assist with resolving discrepancies between customer orders, warehouse records, and delivered products. Maintain professional communication with customers, suppliers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and internal departments. For Sales Manager responsibilities, supervise sales staff and organize daily sales activities. Set sales objectives and monitor team performance against established KPIs. Train sales personnel on seafood products, customer service, order procedures, and sales practices. Manage important customer accounts and maintain long-term commercial relationships. Review customer pricing, volume requirements, contracts, and supply arrangements within authorized limits. Coordinate cross-functional activities between sales, procurement, quality control, warehouse, packaging, finance, and logistics teams. Ensure all commercial and operational activities follow company policies and applicable UAE requirements. Perform other seafood sales, packaging, inventory, customer-service, and operational duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred. Diploma or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Food Science, Food Technology, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is an advantage. Previous experience in seafood, food distribution, food processing, wholesale, retail, cold-chain operations, sales, or packaging is preferred. Practical knowledge of fresh, chilled, and frozen seafood products is an advantage. Understanding of seafood varieties, product specifications, sizes, grades, and quality indicators. Knowledge of proper seafood handling, storage, packaging, and transportation procedures. Understanding of cold-chain management and temperature-control requirements. Strong sales and customer relationship-management abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into accurate product orders. Strong attention to detail when checking product specifications, weights, quantities, labels, and packaging. Good negotiation and commercial skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and orders simultaneously. Good numerical skills for pricing, weighing, quantities, and inventory reconciliation. Familiarity with POS, ERP, CRM, warehouse-management, or order-processing systems is an advantage. Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety. HACCP or food-safety certification is an advantage. Ability to work in refrigerated, chilled, warehouse, and food-processing environments. Good physical stamina and ability to handle seafood products and packaging materials safely. Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive food-distribution environment. Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities. For Sales Manager positions, previous experience supervising sales teams or managing key accounts is preferred. Ability to set sales targets, monitor KPIs, coach employees, and develop customer accounts. Professional and customer-focused approach. Willingness to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required. Fluency in English is preferred; Arabic or additional languages are an advantage. Knowledge of the UAE seafood, hospitality, restaurant, wholesale, and retail sectors is beneficial.
