Job Purpose

A leading Group operating in the UAE is looking for a UAE National (Emirati) – Government Relations & Local Affairs professional to act as the Group's official liaison with UAE government departments and local authorities.

The role will leverage the candidate's UAE National status to facilitate government transactions, maintain strong government relationships and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and Emiratisation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact with MOHRE, GDRFA/Immigration, Economic Departments, Chambers of Commerce, municipalities and other government authorities.

  • Manage and expedite trade licences, establishment cards, labour approvals, quotas and company registrations.

  • Facilitate visa processing, renewals, cancellations, Emirates ID and medical typing for employees.

  • Represent the company at government offices and local affairs meetings where a UAE National representative is required.

  • Advise management on changes to government regulations, fees, portals and compliance requirements.

  • Support Emiratisation targets, Nafis registration and related national workforce initiatives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts across government and semi-government entities.

  • Maintain an accurate tracker of licences, permits, approvals and official documents, ensuring timely renewals.

  • Coordinate with internal HR & Admin teams to ensure smooth completion of government-related processes.

  • Ensure all government transactions and documentation are completed accurately and within required timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • UAE National (Emirati) with a valid Family Book – Mandatory.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Government Relations, PRO or Local Affairs is preferred.

  • Fresh UAE National candidates with the right aptitude and strong communication skills may also be considered.

  • Familiarity with UAE government portals such as MOHRE, ICP/GDRFA, DED/Economic Department and related platforms.

  • Valid UAE driving licence is required/preferred.

  • Strong understanding of UAE government processes and regulatory requirements.

  • Fluent Arabic – spoken and written.

  • Good command of English.

  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills.

  • Well-organised and able to manage multiple government processes and deadlines.

  • High level of integrity, discretion and professionalism.

  • Ability to represent the organisation confidently before government and semi-government entities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a UAE National (Emirati) with strong knowledge of UAE government procedures and excellent relationship-building skills.

Candidates who have hands-on experience dealing with MOHRE, immigration, economic departments, municipalities, licensing authorities and other government entities will be preferred.

UAE National status is mandatory for this position.
