  • Reconcile bank accounts, customer and supplier balances, advances and outstanding settlements.

  • Calculate landed costs by shipment, including purchase costs, freight, insurance, customs clearance and other attributable charges.

  • Track inventory costs and prepare gross-profit reports by shipment and sales order.

  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, certificates of origin and customs documents for consistency.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders and clearing agents to resolve documentation discrepancies and support timely clearance.

  • Prepare international payment requests and supporting documents, verify beneficiary details through approved procedures, and track transfers and settlements. Final payment approval remains with authorized management.

  • Prepare weekly cash-flow forecasts, payment schedules, receivables ageing and financial exception reports.

  • Complete month-end closing and prepare accurate management reports.

  • Maintain records supporting UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and audit requirements, coordinating with external advisers where needed.

  • Work with Excel, company-approved accounting tools and relevant CRM records, using access permissions appropriate to the role.

First 90 days:

  • First 30 days: review balances, records and outstanding documentation issues.

  • By day 60: establish consistent reconciliation, shipment-costing and weekly reporting routines.

  • By day 90: deliver a documented month-end close and reliable order-level profitability reporting.

Performance will be assessed on reporting timeliness, reconciliation completeness, costing accuracy and resolution of financial and documentation discrepancies.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Preferably 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in FMCG, food trading, distribution or import/export. Candidates with shorter but highly relevant experience will also be considered.

  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, inventory accounting, shipment landed costs and foreign-currency transactions.

  • Practical experience reviewing import/export documents and coordinating with freight forwarders and customs clearing agents.

  • Experience preparing international supplier payment documentation, tracking bank transfers and reconciling settlements.

  • Working knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax accounting and documentation requirements.

  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software; willingness to work with the company’s proprietary CRM.

  • Professional English communication skills for correspondence with banks, suppliers and logistics providers. Persian or Arabic is an advantage.

  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, ownership and follow-through.

  • UAE trading-company experience is preferred.

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred; ACCA, CMA or equivalent qualifications are an advantage.

  • Familiarity with letters of credit and documentary collections is an advantage.

Applicants should include their current location, notice period, expected monthly salary in AED and a brief summary of relevant trading/import-export experience.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a practical accounting and trade-documentation assessment.
