About the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commis 3 to join Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
Prepare and measure ingredients, sauces, and seasonings according to established recipes and instructions, ensuring consistency and quality.
Wash, peel, chop, cut, and season vegetables, fruits, and meats while strictly following hygiene, safety, and food handling standards.
Assist in the preparation of basic dishes such as salads and sauces, adhering to recipe specifications and plating guidelines.
Set up and maintain clean, organized workstations, ensuring proper stocking and storage of food items in refrigerators and freezers.
Support kitchen operations during service by replenishing service lines, restocking supplies, and preparing stations for subsequent shifts.
Comply with departmental policies and safety procedures, attend daily briefings, maintain personal hygiene standards, and report equipment issues promptly.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications
0–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a hotel, restaurant, or catering operation.
Culinary diploma, vocational training, or basic food preparation certification is preferred, with a strong interest in developing a career in the culinary field.
Solid understanding of basic food preparation techniques, kitchen hygiene standards (HACCP), and safe handling of ingredients and equipment.
Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and plating guidelines accurately, with good attention to detail, teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn from senior chefs.
Proficiency in English is required for kitchen communication, additional languages are considered an advantage.
