Performs and coordinates all documentation audits carried out within the department, and provides supervisor support for the incomplete records process.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the analysis and incomplete records coordinators, providing advice as and when requested.
- Completes the daily analysis of Emergency Department records.
- Coordinates and participates in the Outpatient (OP) clinical documentation review for the Chief Medical Officer's Office.
- Collates the findings for monthly reporting.
- Identifies appropriate examples for the monthly presentations.
- Multidisciplinary Review:
- Assigns the Outpatient (OP)records for review, for all the participating departments.
- Completes audit of the records assigned to the Medical Record Department.
- Monitors the Release of Information (ROI) telephone lines; during times of off-duty (Thursday and annual leave), and responds to all requests and voice messages received.
- Maintains the American Hospital Dubai's death register, and follows up on any inaccuracies/ deficiencies noted.
- Attends meetings in the absence of the Health Information Management (HIM) Director.
- Provides Head of Department support for the department during the absence of the Health Information Management (HIM) Director.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Bachelor's Degree in any field preferred
- Certification in Health Information Management programs preferred
- Certification in Coding preferred
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in an acute care hospital or multi-specialty clinic in the Medical Records Department.
- Knowledge of and experience in quality and data management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation.
- Ability to complete multiple projects and meet deadlines.
