The Middle Mile Supervisor is responsible for managing the movement of shipments between Fulfilment Centre, Sorting Hub, and Delivery Hubs. The role ensures timely dispatch, route adherence, vehicle utilization, shipment accuracy, and smooth coordination with internal teams and transport vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily middle mile operations, including vehicle reporting, loading, dispatch, transit tracking, and unloading at destination hubs.
Ensure all shipments are scanned, loaded, and dispatched as per planned schedule and SLA.
Coordinate with FC, hub teams, transport vendors, drivers, and control tower for smooth shipment movement.
Monitor vehicle turnaround time, route adherence, and on-time arrival/departure.
Validate shipment handover, loading count, manifest, and seal details before dispatch.
Track in-transit vehicles and proactively escalate delays, breakdowns, route deviations, or operational issues.
Ensure proper segregation of forward, RTO, RVP, and inter-hub movement shipments.
Maintain accurate daily reports on dispatches, pending shipments, vehicle utilization, delays, and exceptions.
Support route planning and vehicle requirement based on daily volume and operational priority.
Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company SOPs during loading, unloading, and transportation.
Monitor vendor performance and highlight service failures, delays, or non-compliance.
Conduct regular follow-ups with destination hubs to confirm receipt and closure of shipments.
Support process improvements to reduce delays, misroutes, damages, and operational cost.
Manage and guide loaders, helpers, drivers, and vendor staff during middle mile activities.
Required Skills:
Good knowledge of logistics, hub operations, and transportation process.
Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
Ability to manage drivers, vendors, and operational teams.
Good knowledge of Excel and daily reporting.
Problem-solving approach with ability to handle pressure.
Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
Knowledge of WMS, TMS, or logistics systems will be an added advantage.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate or diploma in Logistics / Supply Chain / Operations preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse, hub, or middle mile operations.
Experience in e-commerce logistics will be preferred.
