Duty Manager

Mobility Duty Manager responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, responding to customer queries or concerns and ensuring the optimum use and availability of the rolling stock and manpower asset within Etihad Rail Mobility. The Mobility Duty Manager is responsible for ensuring that service plans are in place in line with customer requirements and that rolling stock maintenance requirements managed in accordance with OEM standards and the Fleet Maintenance Plan. The Mobility Duty Manager will provide a competent and informed response and direction during periods of disruption and will effectively communicate plan changes both internally and with customer representatives.

Roles and Responsibility

  • Provide technical and professional review for the mobility business in all areas of rolling stock, service planning and delivery.
  • Direct the Service Delivery Planners to ensure that service plans are developed in line with customer requirement and are communicated effectively.
  • Ensure the optimal use of both train resources in line with maintenance contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customer representatives and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Daily Performance Meeting and action items.
  • Oversee the reporting of incidents, accidents, and safety-related issues. Ensure that all incidents are documented accurately and reported to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner.
  • Investigate all performance failures to identify root cause and communicate and monitor the implementation of actions designed to prevent a repeat.
  • Ensure manpower resource allocation against individual skill set and competencies and minimize cost to the business through controlled overtime allocation within budgeted levels.
  • Direct the Performance Specialist to produce detailed reports with frequency and content as per Head of Train Operations requirements.
  • Manage and supervise staff in NOCC including the Train Drivers.
  • Monitor and track compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and internal procedures. Maintain records of compliance and coordinate with relevant departments to address any discrepancies.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and operational changes. Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure all documentation related to Service Delivery (Plans, guidelines, procedures, etc.) are in place and updated as required.
  • Manage and maintain the On Call responder roster for Etihad Rail Mobility teams.
  • Produce and distribute the Etihad Rail Mobility Daily Production and Performance Report.
  • Perform Rail Incident Officer/Train Operations Liaison Officer duties as necessary.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Educated to a high standard .

Professional Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in ETCS Level 2 and its limitations.
  • Preferred experience in Rolling Stock Singling, Communications and Track.

Experience

  • 5 + years of experience in a similar role or equivalent discipline.
  • Having experience in working in the Rail Operations Control Center.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access Word and PowerPoint).
