Roles & Responsibilities

The Steward will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene ensuring all kitchenware, crockery, glassware, and utensils are cleaned, sanitised, and stored correctly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate dishwashing equipment and hand-wash items as required, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitisation of plates, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and service ware.

  • Sort, scrape, soak and pre-rinse items before loading into dishwashers and ensure correct detergents and chemicals are used according to instructions.

  • Dry, polish, and store clean items in designated locations, maintaining careful handling of delicate items such as stemware, silver.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dishwashing station, kitchen back-of-house areas, and waste disposal points, including regular emptying of bins and recycling as per site procedures.

  • Assist with basic food preparation and plating support when required, following food safety and hygiene standards.

  • Report any equipment faults, breakages, or health and safety concerns promptly to management.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a Stewarding role preferred, ideally within hospitality, or catering environments.

  • Basic understanding of food hygiene standards and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and to follow instructions precisely.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends to support events.
