Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assumes 24-hour responsibility for the management and operations of the Biomedical Engineering section of Support Services of the American Hospital Dubai during the absence of the Senior Biomedical Engineer.

  • Executes the planning of new projects and expansion of existing services.

  • Attends On-call duties after working hours in case of emergency.

  • Receives, installs, documents, and handovers the demos/backup units from the vendors to end users.

  • Performs medical equipment maintenance requests from Service Requisition Software (iService) is needed throughout the hospital.

  • Tests all the hospital medical equipment.

  • Answers to any medical equipment maintenance request needed throughout the hospital.

  • Ensures the compliance of all medical equipment with the hospital’s preventive and corrective maintenance policy.

  • Prepares and performs the training, demonstrations, and in-services for designated users.

  • Implements and complies with the department’s standards, policies, procedures and protocols as they relate to Biomedical Engineering Services.

  • Secures a safe environment by implementing best practices and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) scheduling to Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI)/Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) and other industry standards.

  • Ensures optimal efficiency and continuous safe practices.

  • Participates in ongoing educational activities related to Biomedical Engineering.

  • Ensures the compliance of all medical equipment with the hospital’s preventive and corrective maintenance policy.

  • Answers to any medical equipment maintenance request needed throughout the hospital.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or equivalent

  • UAE Driver's license preferred

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintenance and management of medical equipment preferably in the healthcare environment

  • Knowledge of current regulatory and safety requirements

  • Ability to write and speak in English language
