What you'll do
Service, overhaul and repair diesel generator engines (e.g. Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, Doosan, Baudouin).
Diagnose engine faults by analysing test results, error codes and operator feedback, using diagnostic and testing equipment.
Carry out top-end and major engine overhauls – cylinder heads, pistons, liners, bearings, injectors, pumps and turbochargers.
Repair and maintain cooling, fuel, lubrication, exhaust and air-intake systems.
Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear; repair or replace as needed.
Study manufacturers' manuals and specifications for correct assembly, tolerances and torque settings.
Disassemble, repair and reassemble engines; test-run and load-test to verify repairs.
Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment and machinery.
Record all repairs and maintenance performed; order or requisition parts and materials as needed.
Apply and enforce safety regulations for all work on site and in the yard.
Desired Candidate Profile
We're looking for an experienced Senior Mechanic specialising in diesel generator engines to lead the servicing, overhaul and repair of our generator fleet. You'll diagnose and resolve engine faults, carry out major and minor overhauls, and keep our gensets ready for hire. This is a hands-on, technical role with round-the-clock availability.
