Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities at power project sites, ensuring work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
Supervise civil works including excavation, earthworks, foundations, concrete works, cable trenches, duct banks, roads, drainage, fencing, buildings, equipment foundations, and other associated infrastructure.
Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, surveyors, electricians, QA/QC teams, HSE personnel, and other site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Monitor manpower, equipment, tools, and material requirements to maintain planned productivity and work progress.
Ensure correct setting out, levels, dimensions, reinforcement, formwork, concrete placement, curing, and finishing as per approved requirements.
Read and interpret civil drawings, layouts, shop drawings, specifications, and construction details.
Check workmanship and ensure all activities comply with approved quality standards and project specifications.
Coordinate inspections with the QA/QC team and ensure timely rectification of identified defects and non-conformities.
Monitor daily progress against the project schedule and report delays, site constraints, and resource requirements to the Site Engineer/Project Engineer.
Coordinate with surveyors for setting out, levels, alignments, and verification of completed works.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of construction materials at site.
Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with approved work procedures, safety requirements, and project schedules.
Ensure housekeeping and safe working conditions are maintained across the work areas.
Strictly follow HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, toolbox talks, PPE requirements, and site safety instructions.
Assist in resolving site-related technical and construction issues in coordination with engineers and project management.
Maintain daily records of manpower, materials, equipment, work progress, inspections, and site activities.
Support testing, inspection, snagging, rectification, and handover activities.
Ensure completed works are properly protected and maintained until handover.
Perform any other duties related to civil construction as assigned by the project management team.
Desired Candidate Profile
Strong knowledge of civil construction practices for power and infrastructure projects.
Hands-on experience in foundations, concrete works, excavation, cable trenches, roads, drainage, and structural works.
Ability to read and understand civil drawings and construction specifications.
Good knowledge of construction methods, tools, materials, and site practices.
Strong supervision, coordination, and manpower management skills.
Ability to monitor work progress and identify site constraints.
Good understanding of QA/QC and HSE requirements.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment and under site conditions.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma, ITI, or relevant technical qualification in Civil Engineering/Construction.
5–10 years of relevant experience in civil construction, preferably within power, substation, infrastructure, or large-scale industrial projects.
Experience in supervising civil works for power substations and associated infrastructure will be preferred.
UAE/GCC project experience is an advantage.
Familiarity with UAE project standards, construction practices, and utility requirements will be an added advantage.
