<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <span>JOB TITLE: Consultant Cardiac Surgeon - UAE LOCATION: UAE EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time SECTOR: Healthcare / Hospital / Medical Group ABOUT THE ROLE A leading healthcare provider in the UAE is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Cardiac Surgeon to join its growing clinical team.<br> The role focuses on adult cardiac surgery, coronary and valve surgery, aortic procedures, and advanced perioperative cardiac care.<br> The successful candidate will work within a modern, multidisciplinary clinical environment supported by experienced consultants, cardiac nurses, allied health professionals, advanced diagnostic facilities, cardiac operating theatres, intensive care, and rehabilitation services.<br> ROLE OVERVIEW The Consultant Cardiac Surgeon will provide specialist assessment, surgical management, perioperative care, and follow-up for patients requiring adult cardiac surgical intervention, working closely with cardiology, cardiac anaesthesia, perfusion, intensive care, and rehabilitation teams.<br> KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Evaluate and manage patients requiring adult cardiac surgical intervention.<br> • Perform coronary artery bypass surgery, valve surgery, aortic procedures, and other cardiac surgical procedures according to expertise and facility privileges.<br> • Assess patients pre-operatively and develop appropriate surgical treatment plans.<br> • Lead perioperative planning in collaboration with cardiology, cardiac anaesthesia, perfusion, ICU, and rehabilitation teams.<br> • Participate in Heart Team meetings, multidisciplinary case discussions, risk assessment, informed consent, and outcome review.<br> • Manage postoperative recovery, complications, follow-up, and long-term care coordination.<br> • Monitor surgical outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement of cardiac surgical services.<br> • Support infection control, surgical registry, clinical audit, quality improvement, and patient safety programmes.<br> • Maintain accurate clinical and surgical documentation in accordance with UAE healthcare standards.<br> • Provide clear communication and counselling to patients and families regarding surgical options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.<br> • Highly competitive tax-free salary package • Performance-based incentives where applicable • Housing allowance or premium accommodation support • Comprehensive medical insurance • Annual return flight tickets • Professional indemnity / malpractice coverage • Continuing medical education support • Visa and onboarding assistance LICENSING &amp; RELOCATION SUPPORT • Structured DHA / DOH / MOH license conversion assistance • DataFlow and credential verification support • Visa and regulatory processing assistance • Relocation guidance for physician and family where applicable • Dedicated onboarding support for transition into UAE clinical practice IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE • Strong clinical judgement with commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.<br> • Excellent communication skills with culturally diverse patients and multidisciplinary teams.<br> • Ability to adapt to UAE healthcare regulations, documentation standards and hospital governance expectations.<br> • Interest in long-term career development within a premium UAE healthcare setting.<br> HOW TO APPLY Interested candidates may apply with an updated CV and details of current licensing status / eligibility.<br> Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a confidential discussion.<br> Applications are welcome from internationally trained Consultant Cardiac Surgeons / Cardiothoracic Surgeons holding recognised specialist qualifications such as: • American Board of Thoracic Surgery • UK CCT / FRCS Cardiothoracic Surgery • European Board / National Cardiothoracic Specialist Certification • Royal College Certification (Canada) • Australian FRACS • Arab Board • MCh / DNB / FCPS or equivalent recognised specialist qualification Candidates from the USA, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, India, Middle East, Africa, and South America may apply, subject to UAE licensing and facility credentialing requirements.<br></span> </div>
