The ideal candidate brings deep experience in commercial strategy within marketplace, grocery, or retail businesses, with a strong track record of managing P&L metrics at scale and leading high-performing teams across multiple geographies.</p><br><br><br><p><u><strong>WHAT'S ON YOUR PLATE?</strong></u></p><br><br><p><strong>Owning the regional Local Shops P&L and country team reporting lines including Instashop UAE and Egypt:</strong></p><br><br><p>Own the regional Local Shops P&L consolidated for the markets with a strong sense of understanding of commission revenue structure, NCR and NMR, logistics & order fulfilment related costs, talabat pro subscription commercials, basket value / basket size and the vertical and country mix impact. As you own the P&L, the country LS Heads report into this role; you are responsible for managing the reporting of 8 country heads and the 2 Instashop markets (UAE and EG).</p><br><br><p><strong>Strategic Account Management:</strong></p><br><br><p>Own the regional commercial relationship with key strategic accounts (AAA accounts). Drive GMV growth, gross profit improvement, and NCR investment efficiency across markets. The end result is ensuring the regionally defined operations, content and product strategy will drive the right commercial performance.</p><br><br><p><strong>talabat Pro - program management and vendor penetration:</strong></p><br><br><p>Drive vendor penetration and enablement for talabat Pro and other key company-wide initiatives within the Local Stores vertical. Ensure strategic accounts are activated and optimized to maximize the value of subscription and loyalty programs. Ensure new loyalty program enablers (Pro Exclusive Deals) are properly deployed in the markets driving overall success for local shops and the talabat pro subscription program.</p><br><br><p><strong>Health & Beauty Scale-Up:</strong></p><br><br><p>Lead the regional scale-up of the Health & Beauty category by coordinating between local markets, Regional P&T, Regional LS, and DH LS. Define the category growth playbook, identify key brands and partnerships, and drive execution across markets.</p><br><br><p><strong>Marketplace Expansion - New Verticals Strategy:</strong></p><br><br><p>Own the strategy for expanding into new retail verticals within the marketplace model. Identify whitespace opportunities, build the business case, and lead cross-functional execution from pilot to scale.</p><br><br><p><strong>3rd party Loyalty & Special Integrations:</strong></p><br><br><p>Co-own the integration and commercial activation of loyalty programs and other special platform integrations within the LS vertical. Develop, review and update, annually, the Business Development standard procedures.<br>
Identify, evaluate and develop new business opportunities through market analysis, HTL relationships, ENOC Group relationships and from different approaches from the market.<br>
Ensure the business opportunities identified are in line with ENOC group & HTL strategy and present them to HTL Management for review.<br>
Conduct preliminary evaluation of identified projects through performing Macroeconomic assessments, business environment assessment of the location chosen, internal and external JV partner’s assessments and prepare the preliminary financial business model with HTL Finance and present it to SP & PM for their review.<br>
Prepare project evaluation documentation, confidentiality agreements, MOU’s and draft the conditional JV agreements. <br>
Ensure in-principle commitment from customers and from JV partners by signing NDAs, MOUs and/or LOIs with new entrants to the project and manage costs related to conducting market studies.<br>
Conduct Market Assessments for the projects, and to use the basic engineering and the technical assessment conducted by HTL Project Management team, and the financial assessments conducted by HTL Finance team to finalize the business model. <br>
Manage and lead the due diligence process by creating a cross functional team consisting of various members selected internally from different department of HTL and ENOC group to conduct the due diligence of the project (technical/legal/environmental/commercial/financial etc).<br>
Prepare required document together with SP&PM for approval from ENOC board and the prospective JV partners with “Pre-investment conditions”.<br>
Prepare and review the JV agreement with potential partners and ensure standard terms and conditions are meeting the requirements of HTL and ENOC management set forth by ENOC policies.<br>
Assist Project Management in managing the requirements of the clients. To generate/negotiate a new Commercial Agreement for the clients of the project.<br>

Market the footprint of the diversified and strategically located terminal assets.<br>
Manage the negotiation of storage contracts and volumes with concerned affiliate operations and third parties to optimize capacity usage and revenues.<br>
Liaise with ENOC Supply, Trading and Processing and Marketing to guarantee required capacity is provided for their needs at existing locations.<br>
Identify synergy opportunities with ENOC entities such as ENOC STP and ENOC Marketing (at places like Arab Tank Terminals, Horizon Djibouti Terminals and Horizon Tangier Terminals either to store at current facilities or to plan for building additional capacities to cater to ENOC subsidiary companies.<br>
Build a network of contacts and relationships with clients, partners, potential partners such as Oil traders and majors, pitched manufacturers and traders, and other products traders.<br>
Identify expansion opportunities within operational HTL terminals i.e. connecting Arab Tank terminal to Same refinery at Yanbu, Farai plant connection to ATTL and the possible connection of VHFL to IPIC crude terminal in Fujairah etc.<br>
Create and manage key accounts across HTL terminals which could consist of international traders and manage the expectation of Clients.<br>
Manage the development and updating of the standard operation procedures for marketing/commercial/business development and ensure all HTL entities are following the standard procedures set for marketing/commercial/BD.<br>
Benchmark HTL terminals against other major terminals: benchmarking the marketability of HTL which comprises commercial terms such as tank rental rates, downstream activities, location, competitors in the market, accessibility to the terminals and other factors.<br>
Create awareness for HTL through the development of various branding and marketing tools; such as: development/updating of website, development of knowledge management system, development/updating of brochures and leaflet handouts, participation and sponsorships of forums and conferences, advertising in the leading oil, chemical and terminal publications and contributing stories to leading magazines.<br>
Propose and recommend market studies for Petroleum/Petrochemicals sector.<br>
Generate and Manage the agreed marketing strategies and plans for each terminals.<br>
Monitor customer satisfaction and communicate any customer operational requirements to the operations dept.<br>
Conduct an annual customer satisfaction and complaint indices surveys. Analyze the results and present them to HTL Management with feedback and solutions.<br>

<p>The Family Business Histories project, based at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks a Junior Research Scientist/Scholar to support a digital humanities initiative documenting the stories behind leading family businesses across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region. The project explores the reasons for these businesses' longevity and the links between founder stories and entrepreneurial success in the region.</p><br><br>
<p>Reporting to the Research Associate, the successful candidate will help primarily in designing, building, and maintaining the project's archival database, ensuring data integrity and multilingual (Arabic/English) support. <h4>What you'll be doing</h4>
<p>The purpose of the Merchandise Planner role is to optimize sales, margin, and inventory by building accurate forecasts, managing OTB, and translating commercial strategy into balanced stock and supply plans across channels. It ensures the right product is in the right place at the right time through close collaboration with cross-functional teams, disciplined execution, and continuous performance analysis to drive sell-through and minimize risk.</p>
<h4>What you’ll need to succeed</h4>
<p><strong>Merchandise planning:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Create & maintain demand forecast, OTB (Open to Buy) and inventory plans (MSSI) by collaborating with Buying, Finance, Retail, and Ecommerce teams.</li>
<li>Utilize sales data, market conditions, and supplier inputs to help inform merchandise strategies and support profitable decision-making.</li>
<li>Develop stock and supply plans at the brand level, broken down by channel and brand, based on sales and buying budgets.</li>
<li>Oversee store allocation and replenishment parameters (execution performed by allocators for fashion).</li>
<li>Prepare and input data for internal Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, ensuring alignment across demand, supply, and financial objectives.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Demand forecasting:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Seasonal/Novelties: Challenge Buyers/Commercial demand forecasts on new products using historical data and sales performance of comparable items.</li>
<li>Permanent/Baseline Product: Input rolling demand forecasts, incorporating historical data, promotions, sell-out forecasts from key accounts, and network evolution.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Operational planning:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build capacity plans that account for supply chain, logistics, and vendor constraints.</li>
<li>Manage markdown and liquidation plans to optimize inventory turnover and reduce obsolescence while protecting the margin.</li>
<li>Collaborate with vendors to maintain healthy relationships and ensure alignment on supply requirements.</li>
<li>Identify and address ageing stock, executing liquidation strategies to improve inventory health.</li>
<li>Validate order requests and synchronize with the Order Management team to ensure timely and accurate execution.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Performance monitoring and insights:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Monitor key planning KPIs, such as Full Price Sell-Through, stock levels, ISA (Inventory Service Availability), DOI (Days of Inventory), OTIF (On-Time In-Full), and fill rates.</li>
<li>Conduct post-mortem analyses of previous seasons to identify insights and best practices to inform future planning cycles.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Professional experience:</h4>
<ul>
<li>7+ years of experience in merchandise and supply planning, preferably in retail, fashion, or related industries.</li>
<li>Hands-on expertise with planning tools, such as Blue Yonder, SAP, or similar advanced systems.</li>
<li>Proven ability to manage seasonal and permanent product planning cycles effectively.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Additional skills:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and actionable insights.</li>
