Working alongside researchers from NYUAD and Emirates Nature–WWF, the successful candidate will contribute to marine habitat mapping, spatial analysis, and environmental data integration to support fisheries management and marine conservation. The Junior Research Scientist will support the acquisition, processing, and analysis of marine spatial and environmental datasets collected throughout the project. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will assist in developing habitat maps, managing spatial databases, integrating environmental monitoring data, and producing analytical outputs that inform conservation planning and fisheries management. The role combines office-based spatial analysis with opportunities to participate in field surveys, environmental monitoring, and marine habitat assessments across the UAE. The successful candidate will assist with processing GIS, bathymetric, habitat, and environmental datasets, maintaining project databases, and supporting the development of habitat maps and spatial products. Responsibilities include assisting with side-scan sonar and underwater imagery processing, data quality assurance, statistical analyses, and preparation of maps, figures, reports, and scientific publications. The Junior Research Scientist will also participate in field campaigns to collect environmental and spatial reference data and contribute to project reporting and stakeholder deliverables. Working in collaboration with Emirates Nature–WWF and government partners, the successful candidate will lead the spatial ecology, habitat mapping, and environmental data integration components of a major applied research initiative that will directly inform fisheries management, marine conservation, and habitat restoration across the UAE. The successful candidate will lead the spatial ecology and habitat mapping components of the project by integrating environmental monitoring data, fisheries information, habitat datasets, and field observations to identify the ecological drivers of productive fishing grounds. Responsibilities include developing habitat characterization workflows using combinations of bathymetric datasets, side-scan sonar, remotely sensed imagery, GIS, and other spatial datasets to produce habitat maps, ecological indicators, habitat suitability assessments, and spatial decision-support products. The Post-Doctoral Associate will collaborate closely with project staff to design field campaigns, develop sampling strategies, participate in marine field surveys, and ensure the effective integration of environmental, biological, and spatial datasets. The successful candidate will establish robust data management and quality assurance workflows while preparing scientific manuscripts, technical reports, maps, visualizations, and presentations for project partners and government stakeholders. We are seeking a Junior Research Scientist to join the team to work under the theme of Computational & Interactive Health under the supervision of Dr. Farah Shamout & Dr. Hanan Salam and in close collaboration with Prof. Nizar Habash. The researcher is expected to have strong machine learning & AI skills and exemplary passion and motivation to pursue multidisciplinary research at the intersection of computing and healthcare. The project has three main objectives: (a) developing robust computational methods for decision-making in health based on clinical use cases of interest, (b) building a tailored health-focused Arabic knowledge interactive language model through the development of benchmark datasets, evaluation frameworks, and specialized LLMs and AI agents, and finally (c) designing specialized interactive multimodal multi-lingual natural interfaces. Job Purpose:The Accountant – Receivables supports the Finance Department by ensuring that all receivable-related financial records are accurate, up to date, and maintained in accordance with accounting standards and University policies. The role is responsible for invoicing, reconciliations, reporting, audit support, and coordination with internal departments, students, sponsorship entities and external entities. Main Duties and Responsibilities:Independently process sponsorship/scholarship invoices for government and private entities. Provide all required supporting details and documentation to sponsorship/scholarship entities. Assist in processing and reconciling tuition invoices in a timely manner in liaise with the main campus system. Assist in processing and reconciling other receivable invoices in a timely manner in coordination with internal departments. Assist in processing corporate invoices in coordination with internal departments and follow up on outstanding payments with the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. Assist in processing and reconciling receivable invoices related to branch campuses. Assist in processing scholarship and financial aid applications for returning students. Review and reconcile scholarship and financial aid records of all active students. Prepare reports and assist with quarterly VAT filing and returns related compliance activities. Assist with monthly closing entries and receivable-related reconciliations. Assist in preparing reports for regulatory and government authorities, including Ministry, KHDA, CHEDS etc. Assist in preparing ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by the higher management. Assist with year-end audit activities, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation. Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems, controls & procedures. Comply with and promote all University policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Protect University’s value by keeping information confidential. Perform any other duties assigned to support departmental objectives and the overall goals of the University. Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including QHSE requirements using RIT policies and procedures as appropriate. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or any other related field. o Master’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or any other related field is of advantage. o Certification in relevant discipline from an accredited institution is of advantage (Example: CPA, ACCA etc.) Minimum of 5 years’ experience. o Al least 2 years work experience in the education sector is preferred.
