Job Description<br><br>Job Overview:<br><br>The QHSES Assurance Specialist applies their conceptual QHSES Assurance knowledge with moderate guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership. They are responsible for solving a range of straightforward QHSES Assurance problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. <p><strong>Role: Senior Manager - Corporate Risk Analytics </strong></p><br><p><strong>Location: Abu Dhabi</strong></p><br><p><strong>Role purpose:</strong></p><br><ul> <li>This role is of high importance within Group Risk Management which will have a direct impact on the compliance of the bank with regulatory mandate on model management.</li> <li>The impact of this role on the non-retail banking business would be direct and significant as the incumbent is required to develop and maintain credit risk and profitability models. </li> <li>The incumbent is expected to independently perform advance analytics on the portfolio and continuously advise the Head of the team on emerging trends. </li> <li>The role requires independent thinking, strong communication, initiative, team management, project management interaction with stakeholders within the team. </li> <li>The candidate will have specialized exposure and capacity to execute and deliver end-to-end risk analytics project and framework independently. </li></ul><p><strong>Main responsibilities include:</strong></p><br><ul> <li>Quantitative analysis & modelling: Take a lead role in developing non-retail credit rating models, macro-overlay models and LGD models and participate in development of retail banking rating models as and when required by the Head of the team.</li> <li>In line with the requirements, participate in the deployment and integration of non-retail credit models in bank’s systems and processes. </li> <li>Develop methodologies to ensure effective monitoring of the models. </li> <li>Conduct regular PiT and TTC calibration and optimization of the deployed models as regulatory guidance.</li> <li>Perform monthly ECL / Provisioning calculation and report as per agreed timelines. Drawing on strong seagoing experience, you will undertake a variety of marine surveys and technical assessments, including hull and machinery surveys, vessel inspections, condition assessments, and casualty-related investigations.<br><br>What will you be doing?<br><br>Undertake marine surveys, inspections, technical assessments, and casualty investigations, determining the nature, extent, and cause of damage. Prepare technical reports, repair cost estimates, recommendations, and client deliverables in a timely manner. Lead or support projects to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client requirements, budgets, and agreed timescales. Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to plan inspections and monitor project progress. Maintain accurate project documentation, records, timesheets, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor and manage project Work in Progress (WIP), ensuring efficient delivery and timely invoicing. Develop a strong understanding of ABL's marine and engineering consultancy services and promote these services to existing and prospective clients. Support business development and marketing activities, helping to strengthen client relationships and identify new opportunities. Attend internal, client, and third-party meetings as required. Maintain a high level of billable utilisation and contribute positively to the performance of the wider team. Promote a strong culture of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) excellence, ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required.<br><br>What are we looking for?<br><br>Chief Engineer (STCW III/2) or equivalent maritime qualification, with at least 5 years' experience as a senior engineering officer (Second Engineer or above). Minimum 10 years' experience within the maritime industry. Strong technical knowledge of vessel operations, marine engineering systems, maintenance, repairs, and applicable industry standards. Experience in vessel damage assessments, casualty investigations, repair management, and technical reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports and manage stakeholder relationships. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Previous experience in marine consultancy, surveying, or technical advisory services is advantageous. Shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent, Ship Repair Manager, Fleet Manager, or similar role is desirable.
