Initiates and participates&nbsp; &nbsp;in review/study of difficult and special cases.&nbsp;</p><br><ol start="3"><li><p>&nbsp;Monitors the eye care rendered on a daily basis to ensure that Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital standards are met.</p></li><li><p>&nbsp;Keeps informed as to current developments in the field of ophthalmology.</p></li></ol><br><br><ol start="5"><li><p>&nbsp;Participates in weekly rounds and peer reviews.</p></li><li><p>&nbsp;Coordinates with the HOD in planning programs, integrating the curative and preventive&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;aspect of total patient care.</p></li><li><p>Participates in the implementation of approved curative/preventive programs as they relate to Ophthalmology.</p></li></ol><br></li></ol><br><ol start="5"><li><p>Participates in QA programs as requested by the Medical Director.</p></li></ol><br><ol start="6"><li><p>Orients new staff when requested to do so.</p></li></ol><br><ol start="7"><li><p>Communicates regularly with HOD and other members of the service.</p></li></ol><br><ol start="8"><li><p>Takes an active role in teaching activities provided for nursing &amp; ancillary staff.</p></li></ol><br><ol start="9"><li><p>Participates on committees as requested by Medical Director.</p></li></ol><br><ol start="10"><li><p>Strictly observes organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care.</p></li></ol><br><ol start="11"><li><p>Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested by the head of general clinic.&nbsp;</p></li></ol></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><p>Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine with an MBBS degree.</p><br><ol><li><p>Post-Graduate Masters degree or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of five years experience in the practice as Ophthalmologist post certification.</p></li><li><p>Current licensure in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.</p></li><li><p>Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.</p></li><li><p>Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.</p></li></ol><br><p></p></section>
