Ed) in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field Advanced certification in Instructional Design or Online Learning (e.g., Quality Matters, OLC) Expertise in Learning Management Systems (Brightspace, Canvas) and Curriculum Mapping software <br><br>Required Experience<br><br> 10+ years of experience in curriculum design, instructional design, or academic affairs within a higher education setting. NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites NYU faculty based in New York and Shanghai to express interest in offering courses to teach at NYUAD as part of the Faculty Exchange Program, aligning with the curricular needs of our academic divisions: Arts & Humanities, Engineering, Science, and Social Science. The workdays in a week are normally Monday to Friday with a few system-wide assignments on Saturdays (e.g. FWA exams/MOE exams). Generally, the workload for faculty is 15 credit hours for the Fall semester, 15 credit hours for the Spring semester<br><br>Standards of Professional and Cultural Norms<br><br> All Faculty and administrators should be aware of the HCT Teaching and Learning philosophy. Student learning outcomes must align with accrediting agency standards, where applicable. Faculty are responsible for explaining and ensuring that students understand the HCT definition of academic dishonesty and the types of behavior that will be considered academic misconduct. Faculty must be certain that the students understand the disciplinary measures and consequences of academic misbehavior. Faculty must ensure that the teaching/learning environment is sensitive to the cultural heritage of HCT students. Faculty must recognize that students are the very embodiment of the HCT's institutional mission.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br> A Ph. D. in TESOL or relevant discipline is required where applicable. Or Master's Degree and a professional certification (CELTA, Cert TESOL, DELTA or Dip TESOL) relevant to the discipline with 3 years of teaching and industry experience. Appropriate academic professional qualifications as required.<br><br>Experience<br><br> A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the relevant discipline. A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience is preferred. Experience supporting the development of soft skills and workplace readiness. Experience incorporating Educational Technology in curriculum and instructional strategies. Master’s level qualifications in other disciplines such as Business, Communications or Social Sciences are desirable.
Position Summary<br><br>To provide effective instruction in specific course(s) in the assigned Health Science subjects (Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Laboratory Science, Health Information Management) and in at least two or more specific areas of the assigned program/discipline to the second language learners within a student-centric learning environment to foster respect for students, their culture, and their traditions. To actively participate in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.<br><br>Adjunct Faculty are temporary teaching staff employed within the college to enhance student learning, and who bring with them a wide array of practical knowledge and varied experience. Reporting to the Program Coordinator of a Division, Adjunct Faculty provide effective instruction in undergraduate courses in respective discipline, covering regular program courses including capstone projects, work experience, and senior-level specialized courses. Involvement in applied research and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community and outreach activities are welcomed.<br><br>Adjunct Faculty teaching load are assigned on as per need basis and may not exceed six (6) credits per semester. The workdays in a week are normally Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The hours of work for academic employees are based on the teaching schedule.
