Scaffold We are seeking a competent and motivated Scaffold Design Engineer to join our client's Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing safe, practical and compliant scaffold designs for construction, industrial, infrastructure and specialist access projects.<br>Key Responsibilities● Prepare scaffold design schemes, engineering drawings and calculations.● Design standard and bespoke scaffold arrangements, including access scaffolds, loading bays, stair towers, birdcages, cantilever scaffolds and temporary roofs.● Review project requirements, site information, loading criteria and design constraints.● Assess scaffold structures for strength, stability and serviceability.● Determine appropriate bay sizes, lift heights, bracing, ties, foundations, ballast and loading restrictions.● Ensure designs are practical, buildable and compatible with the proposed scaffold system and available components.● Clearly identify design assumptions, limitations and information requiring site verification.● Conduct site surveys and coordinate with clients, project managers, scaffold supervisors and site teams.● Respond to technical queries and revise designs where site conditions or project requirements change.● Submit drawings and calculations for the required design check before issue.● Maintain accurate design records and deliver assigned work within agreed deadlines.<br>Qualifications and Experience● Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.● Relevant experience in scaffold design, temporary works or structural engineering.● Good understanding of scaffold systems, structural behaviour, bracing, ties, foundations and load paths.● Proficiency in Auto CAD 2D is an essential requirement.● Experience using structural analysis software such as Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, STAAD.
