Position Summary<br><br>We are seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist to join our Pediatric Department in Abu Dhabi.<br><br>The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnosis and management of children and adolescents with rheumatologic, autoimmune, inflammatory and musculoskeletal disorders, working within a multidisciplinary pediatric care environment.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Provide consultant-level assessment and management of pediatric rheumatology patients. Diagnose and manage:Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) Juvenile SLE and connective tissue diseases Juvenile dermatomyositis Systemic vasculitis Autoinflammatory and periodic fever syndromes Kawasaki disease and other inflammatory conditions Pediatric inflammatory myopathies Juvenile spondyloarthritis Pediatric uveitis in collaboration with Ophthalmology Other autoimmune, inflammatory and musculoskeletal disorders Perform comprehensive rheumatologic assessments, including musculoskeletal examinations. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide long-term disease monitoring. Manage immunomodulatory and biologic therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines. Monitor treatment response, medication safety and disease complications. Coordinate care with Pediatric Immunology, Nephrology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Physiotherapy and other relevant specialties. Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, case conferences and clinical meetings. Provide education and counseling to children, adolescents and their families regarding chronic rheumatologic conditions and treatment. Contribute to transition-of-care programs for adolescents moving to adult rheumatology services. Participate in clinical protocols, quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives. Teach and supervise residents, fellows and junior physicians. Contribute to research, clinical audits, education and service development. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.<br>Qualifications<br><br>Medical degree from a recognized medical school. Completed recognized postgraduate training in Pediatrics. Recognized Board Certification/Specialist or Consultant qualification in Pediatrics. Fellowship or advanced formal training in Pediatric Rheumatology is required or highly desirable. Valid Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi Consultant license/eligibility in Pediatric Rheumatology or the appropriate recognized specialty.<br><br>Required Experience<br><br>Significant post-specialist experience as a Consultant/Specialist Pediatrician. Dedicated clinical experience in Pediatric Rheumatology. Demonstrated experience managing complex autoimmune, inflammatory and musculoskeletal diseases in children. Experience prescribing and monitoring immunosuppressive and biologic therapies. Experience in a tertiary pediatric hospital or specialist rheumatology service is highly desirable.<br><br>Preferred Experience<br><br>Fellowship training in Pediatric Rheumatology. Experience with biologic and targeted therapies. Experience managing autoinflammatory and periodic fever syndromes. Experience with pediatric musculoskeletal ultrasound is an advantage.
