Position Summary<br><br>We are seeking an experienced Consultant Sports Medicine Physician with proven experience managing athletes to join our multidisciplinary sports medicine service in Abu Dhabi.<br><br>The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to professional, elite and recreational athletes, with a focus on injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and safe return to sport.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Provide comprehensive sports medicine assessment and treatment for athletes. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic sports-related injuries. Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans. Perform pre-participation and sports-specific medical assessments. Manage musculoskeletal, overuse and exercise-related conditions. Provide guidance on injury prevention, training loads and athlete health. Coordinate return-to-play and return-to-training programs. Work closely with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, sports scientists, strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists and other multidisciplinary professionals. Provide medical support for athletes during training, competitions and sporting events as required. Manage concussion and return-to-play assessments in accordance with recognized clinical guidelines. Evaluate exercise-related medical conditions and optimize athlete performance while maintaining patient safety. Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and athlete performance meetings. Contribute to sports medicine protocols, clinical pathways and quality improvement initiatives. Educate athletes, coaches and healthcare professionals regarding injury prevention and sports health. Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Medical degree from a recognized medical school. Completed recognized postgraduate training in Sports Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics or another relevant specialty. Recognized Board Certification/Specialist or Consultant qualification in the relevant specialty. Fellowship or advanced training in Sports Medicine is highly desirable. Valid Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi Consultant license/eligibility.<br><br>Required Experience<br><br>Significant post-specialist experience in Sports Medicine. Proven clinical experience working with professional, elite or competitive athletes is required. Experience managing athletes across training and competition environments. Strong experience in sports injury assessment, rehabilitation and return-to-play decision-making. Experience working within a multidisciplinary sports medicine or high-performance environment.<br><br>Preferred Experience<br><br>Experience with professional sports teams, national teams, elite athletes or high-performance sports programs.
