In this role, you will perform continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications, with particular focus on roadworks, storm water systems, and cycle track facilities.<br><br>What You’ll Be Doing<br><br>Ensure that all road, storm water, and cycle track construction works are performed in strict accordance with approved plans, specifications, ADM/DMT standards, and relevant active mobility guidelines. Supervise construction of cycle tracks and associated works (pavement layers, asphalt, kerbs, segregation elements, signage, road markings, drainage, and street furniture) to verify correct line, level, crossfall, width, and safety requirements. Report to the ARE or RE any failure of the Contractor to perform the work as per drawings, specifications, and good workmanship, including any non-conformance related to cycle track geometry, surface quality, and user safety. Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, including cycle track and road works, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, etc., and sign at the end of each day as directed by the ARE. Interface with the public and stakeholders adjacent to the works (residents, businesses, road users, cyclists) to help mitigate construction impacts and address access, safety, and traffic management concerns. Report questionable methods of operation by the Contractor to the ARE or RE, especially where these may affect safety, durability, or the intended function of cycle tracks and associated infrastructure. Process Inspection Requests and maintain accurate records of their status, ensuring timely inspection and feedback for all relevant construction activities. Maintain detailed records of work performed by the contractor where the work is executed on a Day Works basis, including quantities and resources used. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Assistant Resident Engineer and project safety representatives, with particular attention to safe access for workers and road users around cycle track corridors. Join us.<br><br>Job Description<br><br>We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Inspector to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Civil Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our infrastructure and road projects.<br><br>Analyzes applicable codes, standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance. Provides general inspection on all construction and subcontractor work to assure a safe and workmanlike operation. Verifies equipment settings, alignment, testing and energization requirements. Be familiar with the project’s detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates. Ensure the contractor/s compliance with the standards and specifications of the contract documents. Maintain records of the contractor human and equipment daily resources. Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE). Liaise and daily follow up with the contractor. This is to ensure the contractor is managing its resources, health and safety, and equipment needs on the site. Prepare daily report to the RE or ARE. This includes works orders, materials delivery, and daily inspections program. Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE. Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site. Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or ARE for pipes alignments and levels. Co-ordinate and co-operate with client project manager during their site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE. Assist the ARE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents and site requirements. Where site problems are found, work with the RE or ARE to resolve them promptly. Monitor the start-up, commissioning and handover of the site works. Including maintaining records of the project milestones. Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works. Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering. Minimum 7 years of experience in similar infrastructure and road projects, with at least 3 years of experience in the UAE. In-depth knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and regulations in the UAE. Strong familiarity with contract documents, detailed drawings, and project specifications. Proficiency in conducting site inspections, quality control, and quality assurance procedures. Excellent skills in site measurements and surveying checks. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite. Outstanding report writing and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will get to involve in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, documentation of all Electrical and Civil for infrastructure/Road construction Project to ensure the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications.<br><br>What You'll Be Doing<br><br>Assist the Utility Engineer in performing inspecting the site duties related to the Streetlight, Electrical & Telecommunication networks, Asphalt Road Construction works and related furniture, (Storm water, Guide signs, barriers, Guard rail ..etc) in accordance to the approved shop drawings & project specification. Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labour and equipment used, etc. and sign at the end of each day. Attend to Work Inspection Request (WIR) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner. Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring the same complies with contract specifications, safety and health risk assessment and environmental mitigating measures respectively on a daily basis. Prepare Surveillance Report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site that are believed to have failed or if the contractor is not complying with verbal instructions and subsequently complete a Site Observation Report (SOR) or Non-Conformance Report (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise. Prepare/complete the necessary documentation prior to inspection of the Works and process accordingly following completion of the inspection. Keep, monitor and follow up as necessary and maintain complete record(s) concerning the execution of the works. Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitors it for improvement. Ensure site progress information is communicated regularly. Coordinate the works to ensure successful hand-over of the project.<br><br><br>What Required Skills You'll Bring<br><br>Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute to the approval of the Engineer. Minimum of 5+ years of civil and utilities construction work experience on major infrastructure and Road construction projects.
