<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><ul><li><p>Operate the sulphonation reactor and associated process equipment through start-up, in-process control, and shutdown</p></li><li><p>Control reaction parameters (feed rates, temperature, SO3/oleum or air-SO3 ratio, residence time) to maintain product quality and yield</p></li><li><p>Handle and charge raw material safely, following correct procedures for corrosive and reactive chemicals</p></li><li><p>Monitor the process for abnormal conditions and respond correctly to upsets, deviations, or equipment issues without needing to escalate every decision</p></li><li><p>Coordinate tank farm receipt, storage, and transfer of feedstock and product in support of each campaign</p></li><li><p>Work with the QC to verify in-process and finished product quality against specification</p></li><li><p>Work with the SHERQ on safe handling, PPE, ventilation/scrubber operation, spill response, and regulatory compliance specific to sulphonation</p></li><li><p>Supervise and train assistant operators during the shift, including PPE compliance and safe work practice</p></li><li><p>Complete accurate records, shift logs, and incident or near-miss reports</p></li><li><p>Support planning and equipment readiness (inspections, maintenance, cleaning, spares) between plant runs</p></li></ul></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li><p>Diploma or Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering</p></li><li><p>5 to 10 years of experience working in a Sulphonation Plant</p></li><li><p>Strong written and spoken English.</p></li><li><p>Basic computer skills.</p></li><li><p>Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently in shifts and as part of a team.</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</p></li></ul><p></p></section>
