You will take total accountability for complex challenges, driving them from initial friction to final resolution. You uncover what truly matters, validate the "why," and drive the prioritization of impactful solutions. You also ensure GTM teams are fully equipped to launch, sell, and support what ships. Be the ultimate problem-solver: When a process breaks or a product stalls, you don't just hand it off and disappear. You dig deep to uncover the root cause - whether it’s a product gap, a documentation issue, or a systemic limitation - and you own the solution from discovery to implementation. Navigate and simplify complexity: You will manage competing demands coming from all directions. You don't wait for permission to move; you make informed calls and drive progress.

What We're Looking For

4+ years of experience in fast-paced, high-scale environments (Series A/B/C startups or equivalent-pace tech organizations), with a proven track record of moving quickly and juggling competing priorities. You can translate the distinct languages and priorities of different teams, and you know how to separate true product signals from operational noise. Relentless resourcefulness: When you hit a roadblock, you find a way around it. You are highly comfortable context-switching between a customer escalation, an engineering sync, and deep-dive data analysis. Autonomous decision-making: You are a natural problem-solver who can dig into complex issues, form a strong point of view, and make the right calls. You know exactly what is yours to decide and what requires escalation. Data-driven approach: You possess a strong analytical foundation. You can pull your own data, extract meaningful insights, and use them to drive product enhancements and prioritization. You are highly comfortable with spreadsheets, dashboards, and core operational analytics. Precision communication: You write and speak with clarity and impact. You easily adapt your communication style depending on whether you are talking to engineers, PMs, customers, or leadership. Sharp product sense: You deeply understand how software is built and shipped. While you don't need to be a PM, you understand what is technically possible, how to accurately answer scoping questions, and how to spot when an initiative is off-track.

Total Rewards

Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are. Own the alerting stack (Zabbix), including threshold tuning, tag/host hygiene, and reducing alert noise without creating blind spots. Execute production data corrections using structured procedures (pre-check, execute, post-check, commit/rollback). Manage Azure SQL compute allocation across regions. Evaluate and implement compute isolation where traffic patterns justify it.

Performance Engineering

Read and interpret SQL Server execution plans end-to-end. Identify the costliest operator and trace it back to its root cause. Apply tactical fixes (plan hints, index adds, stats updates) that buy time, then design structural fixes tracked as debt. Index design: composite key order, include columns, covering vs. partial, online builds.

Schema Development & Release Safety

Review all database PRs against the team's checklist Own the schema deprecation pipeline: [deprecated] schema promotion, Drop Scheduled Date extended property, 30-day scream test before any DROP.

Knowledge & Documentation

Document database object intent using Extended Properties (MS_Description), not just external wikis. Write clear, reproducible runbooks for every non-trivial SOP. Contribute to and occasionally lead internal database development sessions. The team has a formal curriculum; you're expected to teach, not just execute.

What We're Looking For

Must-have

5+ years hands-on as a production SQL Server DBA, with at least 2 years on Azure SQL. Expert-level T-SQL: window functions, CTEs, dynamic SQL (sp_executesql), OUTER APPLY, correlated subquery identification, temp table vs table variable trade-offs. Execution plan fluency: you can identify a Key Lookup, recognize a Parallel Nested Loop that should be a Hash Join, and explain why the optimizer made the wrong choice. Index design beyond "create an index and see if it speeds things up." You understand included columns, fill factor, fragmentation costs, and when NOT to add an index. Experience with multi-tenant, multi-country production databases where a bad migration can affect thousands of companies simultaneously. Disciplined about prod changes. You don't run anything in production without a rollback plan, a pre-check, and a post-check. Able to work autonomously: you don't wait to be told there's a problem. You monitor, you notice patterns, and you raise them.

Strong preference

Azure SQL Hyper Scale or Managed Instance experience. Azure Data Factory familiarity (pipelines, triggers, monitoring). Experience with payroll, HR, or financial data systems - not required, but you'll learn this domain faster if you have it. Zabbix or equivalent monitoring platform administration. Schema migration experience on a database with 500+ tables and active development traffic. Exposure to soft-delete patterns, audit triggers, and data retention compliance.

Nice to have

Power Shell scripting for DBA automation (index maintenance, health checks, access provisioning). Experience reviewing ORM-generated queries and translating developer intent into an efficient SQL shape.

Total Rewards

Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are. When a company hires, pays, and manages talent across 100+ countries, the complexity is enormous. Agentic AI is how we make that complexity disappear: assistants that answer compliance questions, draft contracts, resolve support tickets, and take action on a user's behalf — for thousands of customers and the internal teams who serve them.

We're looking for a hands-on Product Manager to own and drive Deel's AI assistants across both internal-facing (employee and agent productivity) and external-facing (customer) surfaces. You'll lead an ambitious team of engineers, designers, and data scientists building products on the frontier of what LLMs can do — and you'll do it in a space that's changing weekly. This role is for someone who builds, ships, measures, and pivots fast.

What You'll Do

Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for Deel's agentic AI assistants — spanning both internal tools (for employees and support agents) and customer-facing experiences. Be hands-on with the technology: prototype with LLM APIs, design tool-calling and agent workflows, write and run evals, and dig into traces and failure modes yourself rather than handing it all off. Define what "good" looks like and build the evaluation systems to measure it — accuracy, latency, cost, safety, and task-completion rates — and use them to drive iteration. Drive a team of ambitious engineers, designers, and data scientists, setting direction and maintaining momentum without turning the team into a process-heavy machine. Stay at the frontier — continuously absorb new model capabilities, SDKs, and techniques (new model releases, agent frameworks, retrieval methods) and translate them into product bets ahead of the curve. Move fast and pivot fast — ship MVPs, learn from real usage, and kill or redirect work decisively when the data or the technology shifts. Partner deeply with engineering, design, data science, support, legal, and GTM teams to ship both robust backend agent systems and polished frontend experiences. Balance internal efficiency (agent and employee productivity) with external delight (customer-facing assistants), ensuring quality on both.

You'll Be a Great Fit If You

Have 6+ years of product management experience, with significant time(2+ years) owning AI-powered or technically complex products end to end. Have hands-on experience building AI assistants or agents — not just specifying them — including direct work with LLM APIs. Have built on Open AI APIs (Chat Completions, Responses) and/or the Anthropic / Claude Agent SDK, or comparable agentic tooling. This is a strong plus. Understand evals deeply — how to design them, what to measure, and how to use them to drive product quality and model selection. Understand LLM capabilities and limitations: prompting, tool use / function calling, RAG and retrieval, latency/cost tradeoffs, and where models fail. Are relentlessly curious and always learning — you keep up with a field that moves weekly and treat that pace as energizing, not exhausting. Are comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration — you'd rather ship, measure, and adjust than wait for a perfect plan. Can drive an ambitious cross-functional team, turning chaos into clarity and keeping execution sharp through lightweight agile practices. Are an excellent communicator — clear, persuasive, and able to align engineers, designers, data scientists, and stakeholders around a shared bet. Care deeply about quality — from the precision of an agent's output to the polish of the frontend UX.

Bonus If You

Have shipped agentic products to production at scale (multi-step tool use, autonomous or semi-autonomous workflows). Have a technical background — you can read code, use claude code(or similar tools), run a prototype, and reason about system architecture with engineers. Have worked in global HR, payroll, compliance, or Saa S with structured, fast-changing domain knowledge. Have experience grounding AI products in proprietary knowledge bases or retrieval systems. Have partnered with support, content, or ops teams to deploy AI at scale.

Why This Role Matters

This is a high-visibility, high-leverage position at the center of Deel's AI strategy. At the forefront of the global work revolution, you'll tackle complex challenges that impact millions of people's working lives. With our momentum—backed by a $17.3 billion valuation and $1 B in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in just over five years—you'll drive meaningful impact while building expertise that makes you a sought-after leader in the transformation of global work.

About The Role

Deel IT manages the full device lifecycle for Deel's global workforce: procurement, shipping, device support, and returns across 100+ countries and a network of 50+ couriers and suppliers. It's a high-stakes internal operation where SLAs are real, complexity is everywhere, and the cost of failure is visible across the whole company.

We have two core platforms in place that handle real, global complexity across all 100+ countries: an internal admin platform and a supplier platform that manages our network of 50+ couriers and vendors. These platforms touch warehouse operations, logistics, procurement, and manage the full marketplace coordination. They work. They handle scale.

The next phase is twofold. First, we automate the manual workflows that still exist on top of and around these platforms. We digitize and AI-ify our current processes so humans aren't doing work that could be automated. Second, we expand what suppliers can do through the platform itself, so they can take on more complexity and we can offload more work to them. Right now they want to do more but don't have the platform structure to make it happen. That's the opportunity.

We're hiring a Staff PM to own the Operations product surface and drive that automation and expansion agenda.

The scope is large. The engineering capacity is there (growing from 8 to 18). The operational complexity is real. What's needed is someone who can look at the sprawling landscape (logistics, device lifecycle, IT support, supplier networks, SLAs, platforms, data) and come back with an opinionated roadmap about what automation moves the needle most, how to unlock supplier capacity, what ships next, and why.

You won't be handed a pre-defined backlog to execute. You won't get heavy direction on what to build. You'll operate with real autonomy. You'll dig into data, talk to ops teams and suppliers, validate assumptions, think in systems, and come back with a clear point of view. Then you'll drive it.

This is a high-ownership role in a high-pace environment. It's also one of the highest-leverage roles in Deel IT: what you ship directly unblocks dozens of people and saves the company real money.

What you'll do

Own the Operations product surface with real autonomy.

You Won't Get a Roadmap Handed To You. You'll Have Access To Smart, Generous People (engineering, Operations, Finance, Suppliers) Who Can Answer Your Questions And Give You Context. But They Won't Give You The Map. You'll Need To Dig, Synthesise, Validate, And Come Back With a Clear Point Of View. Here's What That Looks Like In Practice

Diagnose and prioritise relentlessly. You'll pull data from multiple sources: the engineering backlog, logistics performance, IT support ticket patterns, supplier feedback, financial impact. You'll synthesise it into a ruthless roadmap: what moves the needle, what can ship fast, what's worth the engineering effort, and what's not. You'll own this roadmap and defend it when people push back. You'll iterate it based on what you learn. Drive automation that removes humans from the loop. Your north star is shipping features that automate manual workflows and reduce human-in-the-loop steps across operations and supplier networks. Examples include shipping label generation (end-to-end), real-time tracking aggregation, device condition documentation, IT support ticket routing and resolution, and supplier onboarding workflows. You'll scope each one, ship it, measure it, and move to the next. Own the metrics that matter. Define what good looks like across on-time device delivery rate, IT support ticket response time, revenue per operations headcount, and revenue per engineering headcount. You'll build dashboards and early-warning systems that surface SLA risk before it becomes a crisis. You'll track them live and close the gaps relentlessly. Translate complexity into clean, well-scoped work. You'll sit between four worlds: frontline operations (messy, data-rich, constraint-heavy); engineering (clear-headed, velocity-focused); suppliers (incentive-aligned but distributed); and finance (outcome-focused). You'll take the complexity and translate it into clean, well-scoped work that engineering can execute fast. You'll maintain a tight feedback loop so you learn quickly when you're wrong. Use AI actively in your day-to-day. Not as a nice-to-have. As your default. Research, synthesis, data analysis, decision documents, spotting patterns in unstructured feedback. You'll be fluent in prompt engineering and you'll show it, not just talk about it.

What we're looking for

Essential

6+ years of product management experience, with at least 1 year at Staff PM level or equivalent senior IC role. You've owned a significant problem space end-to-end. You've shipped under pressure. You've made calls with incomplete information and learned from them. Builder mindset, not project manager. (This is non-negotiable.) You take a messy, loosely-defined problem space and solve it. You're comfortable without a roadmap. You ask "why?" and "what are we really trying to achieve?" and you come back with a crisp point of view. You thrive on autonomy. You don't need to be told what to do. You dig to understand what matters. You're impatient with ambiguity and you have a bias toward clarity. Fast-iterative mentality. You've operated in fast-scaling environments where you've seen the cost of slow decisions and the leverage of fast feedback loops. You ship, measure, learn, adjust. You're comfortable with 80% certainty and a strong conviction. You iterate based on data, not consensus. Systems thinker. You see how teams, tools, and processes connect. You find leverage points others miss. You think about unintended consequences. You optimise for the whole system, not the piece in front of you. When you're looking at a logistics problem, you see how it connects to IT support, supplier incentives, and engineering velocity. Execution-led and detail-oriented. You're close to the work. You move fast without losing quality. You drive delivery. You're comfortable holding detail and you're impatient with fluff. You communicate with clarity and conciseness: you get to the point fast. Data fluent and self-sufficient. You're comfortable with SQL, data platforms, and spreadsheets. You pull your own analysis. You don't wait for someone else to tell you what the data says. You build your own views. Numbers don't faze you. Active AI user. You use AI tools in your day-to-day work: research, synthesis, writing, analysis, decision-making. You can show concrete examples of how you use it, not just describe it conceptually. You're curious about new tools and you experiment with them.

Nice-to-have

Experience with supplier networks or platform product work where the "customer" is internal or distributed (not a consumer-facing product). Experience scaling a product or business through hypergrowth. You've felt scaling pain. You've had to rethink architectures, processes, and teams as you've grown.

About Deel IT Culture — What This Role Demands

This is a high-ownership, high-autonomy role in a team that moves at pace. Before you apply, make sure you recognise yourself in this:

You self-direct and own your vertical like a founder. There's no roadmap handed to you. You dig, validate, think, and decide. You come back with a clear point of view. You're the CEO of your area. You move fast with conviction. You're comfortable making calls with incomplete information. You iterate based on data, not consensus. You're impatient with process. You bias toward action. You think in systems and you're comfortable with trade-offs. You manage across logistics, device lifecycle, IT support, and supplier networks. You see how decisions in one area ripple into others. You make trade-offs explicitly and you can defend them. You're intellectually rigorous and you invite challenge. You back your decisions with data, not gut feel. You're impatient with hand-waving. You challenge assumptions (yours and others') and you're comfortable being challenged back. You change your mind when the evidence warrants it. You communicate with clarity and you're impatient with ambiguity. You get to the point fast. You distil complex problems into clear language. Long-windedness bothers you. You're comfortable operating with sparse direction. You won't have a manager who tells you what to do every day. You won't get hand-held. You will have access to smart people who can answer questions and give you context. You'll use that to self-direct.

Total Rewards

Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are.
