UGC MANAGER — DTC PERFORMANCE MARKETING
Own creator sourcing. Build the pipeline. Find UGC that can perform. Location: Remote / Worldwide Employment: Part-Time or Full-Time Compensation: $1,500–$2,500 USD/month for full-time, depending on experience
JOB SNAPSHOTWe’re looking for an experienced UGC Manager to own creator sourcing and UGC acquisition across our DTC brands. Your primary outcome is straightforward:Consistently find strong UGC creators with the potential to produce paid social content that converts. This is not an organic social media or traditional influencer marketing role. You need to understand direct-response UGC, paid social creative, and what separates attractive content from content that actually performs.
ABOUT THE COMPANYWe operate DTC/e Commerce brands in a fast-moving, performance-driven environment. Creative is a major growth lever for us, so we need a consistent flow of fresh creators who can bring new hooks, angles, demographics, delivery styles, and concepts into our advertising pipeline. You’ll work closely with our Performance Marketing and Creative teams, using feedback from live ad performance and previous winning creatives to continuously improve the quality of creators we source. We care about what performs, not what simply looks good.
THE ROLEYou will own the creator sourcing pipeline from discovery and evaluation through outreach, negotiation, coordination, and content delivery. When the Creative Team needs a specific creator profile, you should know how to find them quickly. When existing sourcing channels become saturated, you should find new ones. When reviewing a creator, you should be able to form a strong opinion on whether they have the delivery, authenticity, relatability, energy, demographic fit, and creative instincts required to produce effective advertising. You are not here to send the Creative Team lists of creators to evaluate for you. You are here to develop the judgment required to consistently identify strong talent yourself.
RESPONSIBILITIESYou’ll be accountable for:• Owning creator sourcing end-to-end so there is always a healthy pipeline of fresh UGC available for testing.• Finding creators against specific briefs, including demographics, personas, creative angles, delivery styles, and campaign requirements.• Evaluating creators through a performance marketing lens, looking beyond production quality to assess hooks, delivery, authenticity, relatability, energy, and advertising potential.• Managing the creator process from outreach to delivery, including communication, follow-up, negotiation, coordination, and pipeline management.• Expanding our sourcing engine by proactively discovering new platforms, networks, communities, and sourcing methods instead of depending on one marketplace.• Maintaining a structured internal creator database, including promising talent and proven performers we can work with repeatedly.• Learning from winning and losing creatives and applying those insights to future creator selection.• Working closely with Performance Marketing and Creative when campaigns require specific creator profiles.• Moving quickly when new creator needs emerge and preventing sourcing from becoming a bottleneck. This is ownership of the creator pipeline, not simply creator outreach.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEYou’re winning when:• The creators you source contribute to UGC that successfully performs and scales through paid advertising.• The Creative Team consistently has access to strong new creators without having to chase sourcing.• Creator sourcing is never a bottleneck for creative production or testing.• You can quickly source quality candidates for specific demographics, personas, angles, or briefs.• The average quality of creators entering our pipeline improves over time.• We develop a growing internal network of proven creators we can repeatedly work with.• You use performance feedback to sharpen your creator selection rather than repeating the same sourcing approach.• The team trusts your judgment when you recommend a creator. The goal isn’t to source the most creators. It’s to consistently source the right creators.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEThis role requires previous DTC/e Commerce experience. You should have:• Previous experience sourcing and managing UGC creators for a DTC/e Commerce brand.• Strong understanding of performance marketing creative and direct-response UGC.• Experience working around paid social, particularly Meta advertising creative.• Ability to evaluate whether a creator has genuine advertising potential, not simply strong production quality.• Strong understanding of hooks, delivery, authenticity, relatability, energy, demographics, and other variables that influence UGC performance.• Experience sourcing creators through multiple platforms, networks, communities, and outreach methods.• Confidence conducting high volumes of proactive creator outreach.• Experience managing creator communication, follow-up, and negotiations.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a large active creator pipeline.• Clear communication and the ability to move quickly without requiring constant direction. This role is best suited to someone who already understands the fundamentals of performance UGC and can operate independently.
TOOLS / ENVIRONMENTYou’ll work across:• Creator marketplaces and sourcing platforms• Social platforms and creator communities• Creator databases and pipeline management systems• Outreach and communication tools• Internal creative briefs and performance data• Collaboration systems used by our Creative and Performance Marketing teams We don’t care whether you’ve used one specific creator platform. We care whether you know how to find great creators regardless of where they are.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS$1,500–$2,500 USD/month, depending on experience. We’re open to both part-time and full-time arrangements for the right person. The role is remote and open to candidates worldwide. HIRING PROCESSOur process is designed to assess how you think about creators, not just how well you interview.1. Application Review We review your relevant DTC/e Commerce and UGC experience.2. Interview We dig into your sourcing process, performance creative knowledge, and previous experience.3. Practical Evaluation / Test Task You may be asked to assess or source creators against a specific brief.4. Offer If there’s a strong fit, we move quickly.
WHO THRIVES HEREYou’ll thrive if you:• Naturally develop strong opinions about why one creator will outperform another.• Think about UGC through the lens of advertising performance, not aesthetics alone.• Are resourceful and enjoy finding talent other people overlook.• Don’t stop sourcing because you’ve exhausted one marketplace.• Can take a brief and run with it without needing constant approval.• Enjoy building systems, databases, and relationships that make future sourcing faster.• Actively learn from ad performance and use that feedback to improve your judgment.• Move quickly and take ownership when something is blocking creative production.
WHO WILL STRUGGLEThis role is not a fit if you:• Send generic lists of creators without understanding whether they fit the brief.• Think good UGC simply means polished or aesthetically pleasing videos.• Only have influencer marketing or organic social media experience.• Depend entirely on one creator marketplace.• Need the Creative Team to tell you whether every creator is good or bad.• Have never worked around performance marketing or paid social creative.• Prefer waiting for instructions instead of proactively solving sourcing problems.
