Org. Setting and Reporting<br>The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is a global intergovernmental treaty aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of migratory species and their habitats. Numerous additional intergovernmental instruments on migratory species conservation have been adopted under the broad umbrella of CMS and are supported by the CMS Secretariat. The CMS Secretariat also serves as the Secretariat for the Agreement on the Conservation of Small Cetaceans of the Baltic, North East Atlantic, Irish and North Seas (ASCOBANS). In addition, two regional agreements adopted under CMS have their own Secretariats, which are co-located with the CMS Secretariat in Bonn: the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) and the Agreement on the Conservation of Populations of European Bats (EUROBATS). The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the designated entity within the United Nations system for addressing environmental issues at the global and regional levels. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of Governments and the international community for action. In the present context, UNEP provides administrative services to the CMS, AEWA, ASCOBANS and EUROBATS Secretariats. This position is located at the CMS Office – Abu Dhabi. The Office coordinates the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia (Raptors MoU) and the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation and Management of Dugongs and their Habitats throughout their Range (Dugong MoU). Under the overall supervision of the CMS Executive Secretary and the direct supervision of the Executive Coordinator of the CMS Office – Abu Dhabi, the Programme Management Officer heads the Raptors MoU Coordinating Unit. The work of the Coordinating Unit focuses on six core areas: (1) MoU processes; (2) support to the Technical Advisory Group; (3) national and regional strategies; (4) the Vultures Multi-species Action Plan; (5) the Saker Falcon Global Action Plan; and (6) cross-cutting issues, including illegal killing, taking and trade, poisoning, and electrocution. The Programme Management Officer will jointly supervise the Associate Programme Management Officer with the Dugong MoU Coordinator. The Associate Programme Management Officer supports the implementation of both the Raptors MoU and the Dugong MoU and contributes to the broader programme of work of the CMS Office – Abu Dhabi. Role Description An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and certifying aircraft and aircraft components to ensure they remain safe, airworthy, reliable, and compliant with applicable aviation regulations and approved maintenance procedures. The role performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, identifies technical defects, coordinates corrective actions, maintains accurate maintenance records, and supports safe and efficient aircraft operations. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled, preventive, corrective, and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance procedures. <p>We are seeking an experienced and proactive Shipping Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the company's shipping, import/export operations, and documentation across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective shipping processes while driving continuous improvement in coordination with internal teams, government authorities, and external partners such as freight forwarders, customs officials, and clearing agents.<br>
This role requires a hands-on manager with strong expertise in import/export regulations, documentation, and operational efficiency in both Local (Mainland) and Free Zone setups.<br></p><p><strong>1. Shipping Operations Management</strong></p><ul><li><p>Oversee and manage all import/export operations including <strong>customs documentation, clearance, and compliance across local, free zone, and GCC borders</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Ensure smooth <strong>coordination with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and internal teams</strong> for timely cargo booking, delivery, and documentation accuracy.</p></li><li><p>Develop, monitor, and improve shipping and clearance procedures to minimize delays and costs.</p></li><li><p>Proactively resolve shipment delays, clearance issues, and discrepancies with customs and freight agents.</p></li><li><p>Manage and oversee <strong>preparation of all types of customs declarations in Dubai Trade (Mirsal II portal)</strong> and other relevant systems.</p></li></ul><p><strong>2. Logistics Process Optimization</strong></p><ul><li><p>Continuously review and enhance <strong>shipping workflows, cost control measures, and delivery timelines</strong> to support the company’s business objectives.</p></li><li><p>Identify <strong>process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions</strong> for smoother operations.</p></li><li><p>Explore and implement <strong>automation tools</strong> for document preparation, tracking, and reporting.</p></li></ul><p><strong>8. Vendor & Courier Coordination</strong></p><ul><li><p>Negotiate and manage contracts with <strong>freight forwarders, customs brokers, and courier services (DHL, TNT, UPS, FedEx)</strong> to ensure competitive rates and reliable service.</p></li><li><p>Oversee <strong>arrangement and tracking of courier shipments, including document preparation and pickup scheduling</strong>.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><br><ul><li><p>Minimum <strong>5-7 years of experience</strong> in <strong>shipping, import/export documentation, customs clearance, and trade compliance</strong>, preferably within <strong>FMCG or Consumer Electronics sectors</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Strong leadership and <strong>team management skills</strong> with prior experience in supervising documentation teams.</p></li><li><p><strong>Excellent knowledge of Dubai Trade (Mirsal II)</strong> and Free Zone portals.</p></li><li><p>In-depth understanding of <strong>customs regulations, GCC trade agreements, VAT, and BOE procedures</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical, <strong>problem-solving, and negotiation skills</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Proficient in <strong>MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)</strong>.</p></li><li><p><strong>Valid UAE driving license</strong> is an advantage.</p></li><li><p>Ability to <strong>work under pressure and meet tight deadlines</strong> in a fast-paced environment.</p></li></ul><br><p><strong>Preferred Experience:</strong></p><ul><li><p> Prior experience managing shipping for multi-branch, multi-country operations across GCC. </p></li><li><p>Strong background in trade document archiving and compliance reporting. </p></li><li><p>Dubai (with occasional travel to other GCC countries if required)</p></li></ul>
