<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <span></span><p><span>Whilst working as a Junior Civil Engineer, individuals will provide effective engineering and maintenance services covering all aspects of the civil assets for stations, car parks, depots, tunnels, viaducts, system ancillary buildings, sub-stations, cutting embankments, signage and related ground level infrastructure for Keolis MHI Dubai Metro.</span></p><br><p><span><strong><span>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</span></strong></span></p><br> <span>Strategic</span> <ol> <li><span>Lead and give guidance to a few Civil teams and subcontractors to carry out all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications to civil assets.</span></li> <li><span>Plan and allocate resources to all aspects of maintenance activities on a day-to-day basis.</span></li> <li><span>Carry out maintenance activities out in field on safety critical problem of civil assets where required.</span></li> <li><span>Follow the appropriate procedures and work instructions for maintenance to ensure compliance with the requirements.</span></li> <li><span>Assist subordinates with the job familiarization and provide training and assessment where required.</span></li> <li><span>Assist the Civil Engineer’s in maintenance planning and program civil maintenance works.</span></li> <li><span>Provide guidance to Civil Team Leaders and Inspectors to maintain accurate records of civil maintenance work accomplished and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.</span></li> <li><span>Assist the Civil Engineer or other technical support staff to implement complex systems or new projects.</span></li> <li><span>Conduct performance reviews, discipline and grievance for Civil Inspectors and Civil Team Leaders.</span></li> <li><span>Perform shift and emergency duties when required.</span></li> <li><span>Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty. </span></li> <li><span>Covering duties of Civil Engineers on leave.</span></li> <li><span>Attendance of internal and external Client or third-party meetings. </span></li> <li><span>Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Civil Manager.</span></li> </ol> <span><span>Financial</span></span> <p><span><span>Identify opportunities that promote a positive return on investment, either through efficiency, revenue </span>generation or risk reduction.</span></p><br> <span>Stakeholder / Customer </span> <p><span>Work in partnership with other departmental staff to ensure synergies are developed and that the strategic business and maintenance plans are delivered. </span></p><br> <p><span><strong><span>Operational </span></strong></span></p><br> <ol> <li><span>Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per procedure, work instruction and DM standards.</span></li> <li><span>Follow QHSE and PTW procedures and guidelines.</span></li> <li><span>Delivery of engineering and maintenance activity that is safe, properly governed, and that maintains risk as low as is reasonably practicable (ALARP). </span></li> </ol> <p><span><strong><span>Capability / People </span></strong></span></p><br> <ol> <li><span>Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Civil Engineer/Manager.</span></li> <li><span>Ensure compliance with all training requirements of Keolis-MHI and always ensure adherence to these requirements whilst in employment.</span></li> <li><span>Participate in training programs to develop skills and knowledge.</span></li> <li><span>Develop the Civil department staff, ensuring the appropriate skills and experience are present.</span></li> <li><span>in the team and there are a breadth and depth of knowledge that will support the unexpected, embedding development into team objectives.</span></li> </ol> <p><span><strong><span>KEY COMPETENCIES&nbsp;</span></strong></span></p><br> <p><span><strong><span>&nbsp;&nbsp; Coordinate with Project Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities. Ensure construction and maintenance works are carried out as per approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship, materials, and progress of works. Assist in planning daily activities, manpower allocation, and resource requirements. Review technical drawings and provide necessary technical support to site teams. Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and safe work practices. Maintain site records, including daily reports, inspection requests, material records, and progress updates. Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and ensure quality requirements are achieved. Report site issues, delays, and technical challenges to the Project Engineer and support timely resolution. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil Site Engineer in bridge maintenance, bridge rehabilitation, or bridge construction projects in the UAE. Hands-on experience in bridge-related works such as structural repairs, concrete repairs, waterproofing, protective coating, expansion joints, bearings, and general maintenance activities. Experience working on UAE infrastructure projects is mandatory. Experience with Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) bridge projects will be an advantage.
