<p>The S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), led by Prof. Borja García de Soto, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of digital construction technologies and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research focused on improving the security, resilience, and trustworthiness of the increasingly digitalized and connected built environment. Applicants with expertise in construction engineering and management, computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital twins, Building Information Modeling (BIM), or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.</p><br><br>
<p>The S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group conducts world-leading research to advance the digital transformation of the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) industry through automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital twins, BIM, and technology integration. A defining aspect of the group's research is the incorporation of cybersecurity considerations into emerging construction technologies to enable secure, resilient, and trustworthy digital ecosystems throughout the lifecycle of the built environment. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment and collaborate with faculty and researchers across NYU Abu Dhabi, the NYU Global Network, and leading international academic and industry partners.</p><br><br>
<p>The successful candidate is expected to conduct high-quality, independent research leading to publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Responsibilities include developing innovative research methodologies and decision-support frameworks, designing and implementing experimental studies, analyzing and interpreting research findings, contributing to proposal development, mentoring graduate and undergraduate researchers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams. Depending on the candidate's expertise, research activities may involve cybersecurity risk assessment for construction technologies, secure digital twins, AI-enabled cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems, robotics and automation security, Building Information Modeling, technology integration, or other related topics that support the secure digitalization of the built environment.</p><br><br>
<p>Applicants must hold a PhD in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, or a closely related field by the anticipated start date. The applicant must also be no more than five years post receipt of the PhD. The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, demonstrated research experience in one or more of the group's core research areas, and a proven ability to conduct independent, high-impact research. Experience in cybersecurity for cyber-physical systems, digital twins, BIM, AI and machine learning, robotics, or digital construction technologies is highly desirable. Strong programming and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and multicultural research teams are essential.</p><br><br>

Key Accountabilities<br><br> JOB DESCRIPTION <br><br>Assigning the Activities from the concerned tools Activation / Modification - Verifying the below:Account creation under Customer’s Name and checking the availability of all the documents required such as Application forms, Valid IDs and Residence visa, Tenancy Contract, NOC / Authorization if required and all other mandatory documents based on the type of request. Cross verification of the Authorised person and other customer information in existing system records with the issued documents Activation / Modification as per the Assigned Activities Ensuring the correct / complete description of customer’s request and other details from the Activity. Ensuring the availability of necessary documents are attached before activation. Executing the activation or modification requests as per the requirements and information provided in the Activity description and also by doing a verification call to the customer Confirmation and Communication Confirming the request fulfilment to the concern team, through email attaching the details of the request such as account number, Work order number and Site schedule date. Updating the Tracker and the CRMUpdating the concerned Tracker and the CRM with the required information of the fulfilled order and leaving the queue to the concerned group. Further actions and modifications on the request also should be captured in the Tracker and CRM and they should be closed once all the pending issues have been resolved. Co-ordination and Follow up:ITCRM / GIS / CSMRaising TTs for the technical /server / network issues occurred while performing the execution of requested services with the appropriate information and documents; Follow up on the same and to get the requests fulfilled completely on the stipulated SLAs. <p>Our Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced QA QC Manager to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile high rise towers and new build villa masterplan developments in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a QA QC Manager on major new build civil construction projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of QA QC Manager for a recognised main contracting company previously.
This role is available for immediate joining and is hiring on a temporary to permanent basis as an initial 6 month contract position, outsourced through J10 Consulting, with the option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
• Manage all QA/QC documentation.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Identify and resolve quality issues.
• Prepare and present QA/QC reports.
• Lead & Mentor QA/QC Engineers and Inspectors
• Review and monitor material specifications and quality standards, workflow, processes, etc. and recommend adjustments if needed in order to comply with the company policies, client and statutory requirements.
• Conduct and coordinate regular inspections, making sure also that work, products and documentations are prepared prior.
• Address quality issues on an immediate basis and coordinate with concerned personnel and discuss the measures to be taken to minimize quality risk.
• Preparing and reviewing all inspection reports for compliance
• Prepare and regularly (weekly) submit reports and maintain QC records.
• Prepare QA/QC Performance Reports weekly, monthly, and annually, non conformance trend Analysis, remedial actions, and submit to Employer.·
• Ensure that the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and Method Statements are implemented on site and the particular hold points required are coordinated with the Project Team·
• Review QA/QC organization Conduct Quality or technical compliance audits for Contractor, Sub Contractor or Vendors·
• Review QA/QC Procedures and ensure implementation is in compliance with agreed requirements
• Review Inspection, Test, Plans and ensure compliance with agreed requirement etc.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required</p><p>QA/QC Manager Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 10+ years experience in Main Contracting Quality Assurance and Control - at least 2 in a recognised UAE Main Contractor
• Proven track record of managing teams of engineers and inspectors in QA QC processes
• Strong knowledge of construction quality control processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Experience working with inspection agencies and regulatory bodies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Certifications in quality control, such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Black Belt, are beneficial</p>
