Assess horizontal and vertical road geometry, sight lines, superelevation, and alignment for technical adequacy and authority compliance. Review intersection and junction designs, roundabout layouts, turning radii, and traffic management provisions. Evaluate pavement design reports, material specifications, and subgrade treatment recommendations. Review road cross-sections, kerb details, footpath and cycle track provisions, and road furniture layouts. Check signage, road marking, and wayfinding designs for compliance with DOT standards. Identify design deficiencies or non-conformances and prepare formal technical review comments for consultant response and close-out. Maintain a road design submission register and track review cycles, comment status, and approval milestones.<br><br>Authority & Compliance<br><br>Ensure road design submissions are aligned with DOT requirements, DM planning conditions, TASAREEH permit requirements, and any Miral/Yas Island-specific road standards. Provide technical input to support DOT NOC applications and authority review processes for road infrastructure. Stay current with Abu Dhabi road design manuals, geometric design standards, and Yas Island development requirements.<br><br>Construction Support<br><br>Review and comment on road construction shop drawings, contractor submittals, pavement mix designs, and method statements. Prepare and maintain design review logs, technical comment registers, and submission tracking reports.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Education<br><br>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc or BEng) from an accredited university — mandatory. Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering, Highway Engineering, or Civil Engineering — advantageous. Main Accountabilities:
The Asset Controller / Engineer is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive oversight and control of all skip and bin assets across the organization, ensuring accurate tracking of location, condition, and availability to support operational efficiency and contract fulfillment within the waste management business.
Detailed Job Description:
Asset Tracking and Monitoring
- Maintain accurate, real-time records of all skips and bins including location, size specifications, and current deployment status
- Monitor asset movements between sites, customers, and depot locations
- Track asset utilization rates and identify underperforming or idle equipment
- Manage asset database/system ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Condition Management
- Conduct regular condition assessments of all skips and bins
- Document damage, wear and tear, and maintenance requirements
- Coordinate timely repairs and refurbishment to maintain asset quality standards
- Remove unserviceable assets from active inventory and arrange disposal or scrapping
Inventory Control
- Monitor stock levels across different skip and bin sizes (e.g., 5 - 36 CBM skips; 240L, 360L, 660L, 1100L bins; Portable Compactors etc)
- Forecast demand based on contract requirements and seasonal variations
- Coordinate stock replenishment and procurement of new assets
- Optimize asset distribution across operational areas
Maintenance and Repair Coordination
- Schedule and oversee routine preventative maintenance programs
