<p>Our Multi National Design & Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on high profile hospitality, commercial and entertainment projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Structural Design Engineer on large scale projects in the UAE and the wider GCC and a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Developer business.
This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 month contract position as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
A highly skilled and experienced Structural Designer to join a Dubai-based team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design and coordination of structural systems for major hospitality, commercial and entertainment new build projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop efficient and code-compliant structural solutions that meet the highest international standards.
• Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
• Lead the structural design process from concept for steel and concrete structures using relevant international and regional codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes).
• Prepare and review detailed design drawings, models, and technical documentation using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla.
• Coordinate structural elements with architectural, MEP, and civil teams to ensure seamless integration and clash-free design.
• Provide technical support during design development, tendering, and construction stages.
• Conduct structural analysis using tools such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, or Robot.
• Supervise and mentor junior designers and draftspersons, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines.
• Attend design coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Review contractor design submittals for accuracy and meeting design intent
• Ensure all designs comply with local authority requirements and building regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of BOQs, technical reports, and design calculations for project submissions.</p><p>Structural Design Engineer Experience:
• Minimum Bachelor s Degree in Structural Engineering. MSc preferred
• A minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience in Structural Engineering with a key focus on High rise vertical projects.
• A minimum of 5 years experience working on major high rise projects with recognised PMC, Design or Engineering Consultancy companies in the UAE / GCC.
• Proficiency in structural design and modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, STAAD, SAFE, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards.
