</li><li>Handle and store all volatile gas cylinders and related supplies; </li><li>Dispose of spent CO2 absorbent; </li><li>Recalibrate instrumentation. </li></ol> Responsibilities: <ol><li>Preparing patients and assists during induction, maintenance of and recovery from anesthesia.</li><li>Performs duties under the direct supervision of Anesthesiologist.</li><li>Ensuring properly functioning suctioning equipment is on hand.</li><li>Setting up endotracheal tubes (ET) and Arranging transtracheal jet ventilation devices. </li><li>Provides support for routine surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia.</li><li>Stocking self-inflating resuscitation bags, breathing circuits and masks. </li><li>Performs first level maintenance on anesthesia equipment.</li><li>Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, stocks, orders and maintains the routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.</li><li>Checks anesthesia machine on a daily basis, prior to surgery, to ensure the gas scavenging system and the suction apparatus are attached and functioning at optimal level.</li><li>Double-checking instrument calibrations </li><li>Cleans equipment and stores supplies related to anesthesia.</li><li>Ensuring the adequate stock of laryngoscope blades. </li><li>Ensuring gas cylinders are full, functional and on hand. </li><li>Works with a wide variety of equipment specific to administration of anesthesia, patient monitoring and related life support systems.</li><li>Understands the sequence of procedures required for rapid induction and intubation used in emergency cases to prevent vomiting and aspiration.</li><li>Performs Sellick’s Maneuver (Cricoid pressure) as required.</li><li>Positions patients for surgery who require spinal or epidural anesthesia with the awareness of sterile techniques.</li><li>Familiar with equipment, supplies and pharmacological agents and is familiar with locations of same.</li><li>Assists anesthetists with starting I.V. infusion.</li><li>Maintains awareness of safety hazards and takes necessary action to prevent accidents.</li><li>Post-surgery check for soda lime depletion in the CO2 absorbers.</li><li>Disassemble (and reassemble before surgery) absorbers for cleaning and sterilization;</li><li>Handle and store all volatile gas cylinders and related supplies;</li><li>Dispose of spent CO2 absorbent.</li></ol> Qualifications: <ol><li>Valid DOH/DHA License or DOH/DHA Exam pass result as Anesthesia Technologist/Technician. </li><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Anesthesia technology from an accredited University (Min 3 Years course duration) or </li><li>Diploma in Anesthesia Technology from an accredited University (Min 2 Years course duration). </li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience after qualification and registration/license to practice. </li><li>Preference to candidate with experience from Maternity care hospitals. </li><li>Valid Home country registration as Anesthesia Technologist/Technician. </li><li>Valid Basic life support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association. </li><li>Excellent communication skills in English.   </li></ol> </div>
