The successful candidate will diagnose and manage a broad range of pediatric respiratory and pulmonary conditions and work collaboratively with pediatricians, intensivists, ENT specialists, respiratory therapists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary teams.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Provide consultant-level pediatric pulmonary consultations for inpatient and outpatient patients.</li><li>Diagnose and manage pediatric respiratory conditions, including:</li><li>Pediatric asthma and recurrent wheezing</li><li>Recurrent and chronic respiratory infections</li><li>Chronic lung disease</li><li>Cystic fibrosis</li><li>Bronchiectasis</li><li>Sleep-related breathing disorders and pediatric obstructive sleep apnea</li><li>Congenital and developmental respiratory disorders</li><li>Chronic cough and unexplained respiratory symptoms</li><li>Respiratory failure and complex pulmonary conditions</li><li>Perform and interpret appropriate pulmonary investigations, including pulmonary function tests and other respiratory investigations.</li><li>Undertake or supervise relevant pediatric respiratory procedures, where appropriately credentialed, including bronchoscopy.</li><li>Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing follow-up.</li><li>Counsel children, parents, and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, medication use, and long-term respiratory care.</li><li>Coordinate care with pediatric intensive care, ENT, allergy/immunology, cardiology, radiology, and other specialties.</li><li>Maintain accurate and timely medical records.</li><li>Follow hospital clinical policies, patient-safety standards, and infection-control procedures.</li><li>Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, audits, teaching, and professional development.</li><li>Support the education and mentoring of junior physicians and healthcare professionals.</li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and hospital programs as required.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.</li><li>Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics.</li><li>Recognized subspecialty qualification in Pediatric Pulmonology/Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine.</li><li>Board certification or internationally recognized specialist qualification preferred.</li><li>Consultant-level experience in Pediatric Pulmonology.</li><li>Eligibility for or current DHA Consultant license in Dubai.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>Minimum experience as required under the applicable DHA Professional Qualification Requirements.</li><li>Experience in a tertiary-care or internationally recognized hospital preferred.</li><li>Strong experience managing complex pediatric respiratory cases.</li><li>Experience with pediatric bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing is advantageous.</li><li>Experience in pediatric sleep medicine and long-term respiratory support is an advantage.</li><li>Arabic language skills may be advantageous depending on the patient population.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Competencies<br><br></strong><ul><li>Excellent clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.</li><li>Strong expertise in pediatric respiratory medicine.</li><li>Excellent communication and parent/caregiver counselling skills.</li><li>Patient-centered approach.</li><li>Strong multidisciplinary teamwork.</li><li>Commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient safety.</li><li>Good documentation and EMR skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a busy hospital environment.<br><br></li></ul><strong>DHA Licensing<br><br></strong>The candidate should meet the applicable <strong>Dubai Health Authority (DHA)</strong> licensing and credentialing requirements for Consultant-level practice in Pediatric Pulmonology.<br><br><strong>Compensation & Benefits<br><br></strong><ul><li>Competitive tax-free salary based on qualifications and experience.</li><li>Medical insurance.</li><li>Annual leave and other benefits according to the employment contract.</li><li>Professional development opportunities.</li><li>Multidisciplinary clinical environment.</li><li>DHA licensing and credentialing support, where applicable.</li></ul>
