JOB TITLE & JOB DESCRIPTION: SITE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER<br>John R Harris & Partners – Dubai is currently looking for a Sr. Site Engineer - Civil to join our growing Supervision team to support recent project appointments in UAE.<br>The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing on-site civil and structural works and ensuring the execution of construction activities aligns with structural design specifications, codes, and safety standards. The role involves close collaboration with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure timely and quality delivery of structural components across commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects in the UAE.<br>KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>Supervise and inspect on-site structural work for compliance with approved designs, specifications, and local regulations (DM, ADM, etc.). Assist in preparing progress reports, inspection reports, and structural documentation for authorities when required.<br>REQUIREMENTS:<br>Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s is a plus).10-12 years of civil/structural engineering experience, with at least 6 years on UAE projects. Familiarity with UAE building codes and municipality standards (Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi DMT, etc.). Knowledge in structural analysis/design software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, Auto CAD, Revit) is plus. Strong understanding of concrete and steel construction practices. Excellent communication and site coordination skills. Valid UAE driving license (preferred). <ul><li>Lead telecommunications engineering and design activities for industrial and infrastructure projects.</li><li>Manage the preparation and review of telecom engineering deliverables including Telecom System Architecture Diagrams, Telecom Equipment Specifications and Datasheets, Fiber Optic Network Design and Routing, Structured Cabling System Design, Telecommunications Layout Drawings, Communication Network Topology Diagrams, Radio Communication System Design, Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) System Design, CCTV and Video Surveillance System Design</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, standards, and project specifications.</li><li>Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, IT, and HSE disciplines to ensure integrated system design.</li><li>Review and approve engineering contractor and vendor documents including drawings, datasheets, technical submissions, and design calculations.</li><li>Lead technical discussions with clients, consultants, licensors, vendors, and third-party stakeholders.</li><li>Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and value engineering workshops.</li><li>Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and factory acceptance tests (FAT).</li><li>Provide engineering support during installation, testing, integration, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.</li><li>Troubleshoot telecom system issues during project execution and operational phases.</li><li>Mentor and supervise telecom engineers and designers.</li><li>Ensure project schedules, quality requirements, and engineering deliverables are achieved within approved budgets.</li></ul>
<p><strong>KEY QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><br>
<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline.</li><li>Master's Degree is an advantage.</li><li>Minimum 10+ years of telecommunications engineering experience in industrial, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, transportation, utility, or power projects.</li><li>Minimum 3–5 years in a Senior Telecom Engineer role.</li><li>Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Design (DD) project execution.</li><li>Solid knowledge of industrial telecommunications and communication systems.</li><li>Familiarity with international standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, ITU, TIA/EIA, NFPA, and other relevant industry standards.</li><li>Experience in the design and engineering of Fiber Optic Communication Systems, Structured Cabling Systems, LAN, WAN, and Industrial Network Infrastructure, CCTV and Video Surveillance Systems, Access Control and Security Systems, Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) Systems</li><li>Knowledge of network architecture, communication protocols, and telecom system integration.</li><li>Understanding of cybersecurity considerations for industrial communication networks.</li><li>Familiarity with telecom system calculations, link budget analysis, and network performance assessments.</li><li>Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Visio, and other telecom engineering and network design tools.</li><li>Experience in brownfield and greenfield project environments (Preferred).</li><li>Exposure to EPC contractor and PMC project execution environments (Preferred).</li><li>Strong understanding of construction support, system integration, testing, commissioning, and site troubleshooting activities (Preferred).</li><li>Excellent communication, coordination, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.</li></ul>
