Join us.</p><br><br>Job Description<br><p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi, with strong experience in pump stations, lifting stations, and associated mechanical systems.</p><br><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><br><ul><li>Supervise and monitor mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.</li><li>Supervise the installation and execution of mechanical works for pump stations, lifting stations, drainage pumping systems, and associated infrastructure.</li><li>Review and assess contractor technical submissions, including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, technical proposals, and equipment submittals.</li><li>Monitor the installation, testing, commissioning, and completion of pumps, lifting station equipment, mechanical systems, pipework, valves, and associated equipment.</li><li>Coordinate mechanical works with civil, electrical, wet utilities, structural, and other disciplines to ensure proper interfaces and timely execution.</li><li>Monitor site progress, quality, workmanship, and compliance with approved project requirements.</li><li>Conduct site inspections and review inspection requests to ensure mechanical works are completed in accordance with approved documents.</li><li>Review and monitor mechanical equipment installation, alignment, connections, testing, and commissioning.</li><li>Review testing and commissioning procedures and witness relevant tests for pumps, lifting stations, and associated mechanical systems.</li><li>Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential delays and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and support to the project team and Contractor on mechanical engineering matters.</li><li>Coordinate with the Contractor, Authorities, stakeholders, and other project disciplines to resolve technical and construction-related issues.</li><li>Review the Contractor’s proposed equipment, materials, and mechanical systems for compliance with project specifications and approved requirements.</li><li>Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with approved construction methods, quality requirements, and project specifications.</li><li>Maintain proper records of inspections, technical matters, progress, testing, commissioning, and construction activities.</li><li>Participate in technical, progress, and coordination meetings with the Contractor and project stakeholders.</li><li>Support the Resident Engineer and Project Management team in the successful delivery of the works.</li><li>Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are properly implemented throughout the construction activities.</li></ul><br>Qualifications<br><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.</li><li>10 Years of Relevant experience in mechanical works for infrastructure and construction projects.</li><li>Strong experience in pump stations, lifting stations, pumping systems, and associated mechanical works.</li><li>Good knowledge of pumps, valves, pipework, mechanical equipment, and related systems.</li><li>Experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.</li><li>Experience in reviewing technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, RFIs, and equipment submittals.</li><li>Experience in construction supervision and coordination with contractors and other disciplines.</li><li>UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is preferred.</li><li>Strong communication, coordination, technical, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.</li></ul><br>Additional Information<br><p><em>At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously. <strong>To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.</strong></em></p><br><p><strong>About AECOM</strong> </p><br><p>AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees. Join us.</p><br><br>Job Description<br><p>AECOM is seeking an experienced Utilities Engineerfor a major Roads and Bridges project located in Dubai. The Utilities Engineer will be a key member of AECOM’s construction supervision team for RTA projects in Dubai, focusing on the supervision, coordination, and quality control of wet and dry utilities works. The role involves ensuring that all utility works comply with RTA standards, project specifications, and authority requirements, while maintaining strict safety and quality control on-site. The Utilities Engineer will coordinate closely with contractors, utility authorities, and the project team to ensure timely and compliant execution of works.</p><br><p><strong>Roles and Responsibility</strong></p><br><p>•Coordinate utility protection, diversion, and reinstatement works within RTA road corridors.<br>
• Ensure compliance with RTA utility corridor layouts, depth clearances, and reinstatement standards.<br>
• Interface with traffic management and staging plans to maintain safe utility works near live roads.<br>
• Support RTA inspections and audits related to MEP and utility installation<br>
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical proposals related to MEP and utility services in compliance with project specifications and authority requirements.<br>
• Ensure all MEP and utility installations are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, RTA standards, and local authority regulations (DEWA, Etisalat, DU, Dubai Municipality, etc.).<br>
• Coordinate with utility authorities for NOCs, service diversions, connections, shutdowns, and inspections.<br>
• Manage interface coordination between utilities, civil, structural, roadworks, and traffic diversion works to avoid clashes and delays.<br>
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality, safety, and progress targets are met.<br>
• Conduct site inspections, issue site instructions, NCRs, and observations, and ensure timely corrective actions.<br>
• Verify testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems, including pressure testing, flushing, energization, and final authority approvals.<br>
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, particularly during live utility works, trenching, and tie-in activities.<br>
• Review and certify utility-related WIRs, test results, and inspection records prior to approvals.<br>
• Track long-lead MEP items, authority approvals, and material deliveries to mitigate schedule risks.<br>
• Attend progress, technical, and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.<br>
• Review and validate as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation for utilities and MEP systems.<br>
• Support project close-out by ensuring final utility connections, authority clearances, and completion certificates are obtained.<br>
