Key Responsibility<br><br>System Design & Optimization<br><br> Support the design and deployment of automated systems including conveyor belts, sorters, automated storage/retrieval systems (AS/RS), PLCs, and SCADA interfaces. Evaluate existing automation performance and recommend technical enhancements or upgrades to maximize uptime and throughput. Analyze system data to optimize process flows and improve system logic for warehouse operations.<br><br>Maintenance & Troubleshooting<br><br> Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in automation equipment. Collaborate with technicians to implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans. Liaise with OEMs and service providers for major repairs or component replacements.<br><br>Project Implementation & Support<br><br> Assist in the planning, testing, and commissioning of new automation installations or expansions. Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables, technical documentation, and validation protocols. Provide engineering support during system upgrades, process changes, or infrastructure modifications.<br><br>Safety & Compliance<br><br> Ensure all automation systems operate in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor safety protocols to prevent accidents and equipment malfunctions. Maintain up-to-date risk assessments and mitigation plans for automated zones.<br><br>Reporting & Documentation<br><br> Maintain accurate logs of system performance, issue resolutions, and engineering modifications. Develop technical manuals, training content, and process documentation for team knowledge sharing. Present reports on automation KPIs, downtimes, and system efficiency to management.<br><br>Desired Experience<br><br> 4–6 years of experience in warehouse or industrial automation engineering, preferably within a retail distribution environment. Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial control systems. Experience with automated conveyor systems, sortation systems, and warehouse management integrations. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering. Exposure to Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.

Identify, record, and classify structural defects and deterioration (e.g. cracking, spalling, corrosion, PT/tendon distress, bearing movement, joint failure) using standard condition rating systems, and assess their structural significance to recommend appropriate follow-up actions, prioritisation, and repair methodology. Maintain an accurate, up-to-date structural asset inventory and inspection history for all assigned bridges and underpasses, and prepare detailed inspection reports, condition surveys, and photographic records for submission to the Client/Consultant. Manage bridge and underpass maintenance and repair activities to ensure works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. Provide technical direction for structural repair works including concrete repairs, crack injection, waterproofing, protective coatings, bearing replacement, expansion joint repair/replacement, and barrier/kerb upgrades, and review and approve method statements, repair proposals, and materials submitted by contractors/subcontractors prior to execution. Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure maintenance works meet required quality standards, witness critical inspection stages, and support emergency/reactive maintenance response for structures showing critical defects or safety concerns. Coordinate with the Client, Consultant, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of inspection and maintenance programmes. Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and safe systems of work during all inspection and maintenance activities, including traffic management and confined space/access arrangements where applicable. Assist in the measurement of completed works and preparation of project/asset management documentation. <br><br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in bridge/road structure inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation works. Experience working on UAE infrastructure/bridge maintenance projects is an advantage. Demonstrated experience in structural inspection techniques and condition rating/asset management systems.
