The incumbent would be a proven leader with strong technical expertise who will be managing electrical team, enable timely and quality delivery of projects and act as the front face to our key clients in Middle East. </p><br><br>Responsibilities:<br><p>Role relating to Associate Technical Director– Electrical for Power Transmission & Distribution projects.<br>This includes (but not limited to):</p><br><ul><li>This role includes overall leadership of Electrical Discipline which will entail technical leadership responsibilities including client management, project delivery, bids & proposals & people management (mentoring, training, team growth) etc. </li><li>The candidate should have strong technical knowledge in both primary & secondary detailed engineering of EHV substations and subject matter expert at least one of them.</li><li>Expertise in conceptual engineering drawings & designs (calculations), BOQs for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects, covering both Air Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS), ranging from 132 kV up to 400kV (with a particular emphasis on 220 kV voltages and above).</li><li>Perform design review for electrical deliverables related to T&D projects while acting as a lead and directly interfacing with clients.</li><li>Manage a team of engineers and designers in carrying out electrical design review and basic engineering works including sizing calculations, layouts, BOQ and provide necessary technical inputs to designers, procurement assistance in compliance with tender specifications and design basis, within budgeted man-hour and project schedules.</li><li>Candidate shall have expertise in basic design/review of electrical substation facilities including Single Line Diagram, Protection Single Line diagram, General Arrangement layout, Sectional Layout, Erection key diagram, Direct Stroke Lightning protection, LT AC/DC diagrams, Lighting, ground mat design, Power One Line diagram, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, Panel GA drawing, BOM of P&C Panel, LT AC/DC diagrams.</li><li>Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation.</li><li>Experience of conducting feasibility studies, conceptual design report (CDR), design reviews and monitoring the site supervision work on OE roles.</li><li>Delivery of accurate and thorough designs that will meet industry standards and specifications, and meet good engineering practice with excellent constructability.</li><li>Review of internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability.<br>Resolving site queries during the construction phase of projects.</li><li>Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data information.</li><li>Making and maintaining appropriate commitments to project teams and coordinating design activities with multi-disciplined project team members.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Partake in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents. Authorizes alternate studies such as shop vs. field fabricated pipe, concrete vs. Steel structures etc. and agree in consultation on completion of portions of the plant for acceptance by end user.<br>• Coordinate overall financial matters pertaining to the project, such as currency requirements and restrictions, import duty exceptions, financial forecasts, etc.<br>• Carry out other similar related duties such as attending Tender Board Meetings, reporting on the financial situation of the project. Appraises contractor’s overall performance for quality, cost, schedule and safety and ensures corrective actions are taken. Prepares weekly highlights and monthly progress reports covering all engineering, procurement and construction activities.<br>• Accountable for efficiently managing all projects within budgets and in accordance with Company policies, directives, engineering and project management standards.
