Home Join Our Team<br><br>Contact us<br><br>Head of Operations<br><br>UAE<br><br>Hybrid<br><br>Reports to: CEO / Board / relevant committee<br><br>Location: UAE (ADGM or DIFC, as applicable)<br><br>Status: Full-time, senior leadership, approved person or equivalent<br><br>Role purpose: Lead the operational operating model of a regulated retail investment platform, ensuring the business can safely scale client growth, maintain robust outsourcing governance, deliver reliable platform operations, and demonstrate strong operational resilience and control. The role owns the operational capability of the business, while working closely with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Technology, and client-facing teams.<br><br><br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Own client onboarding operations, account opening workflow, verification coordination, and operational throughput. Oversee platform operations, trade support, cash movements, reconciliations, and exception handling. Manage outsourcing relationships with brokers, custodians, technology vendors, payment providers, and support partners. Monitor SLAs, service incidents, backlog levels, and operational performance metrics. Lead business continuity planning, disaster recovery arrangements, and resilience testing. Coordinate operational implementation of regulatory or internal change projects. Maintain operational MI and dashboards for senior management and board review. Lead root-cause analysis for operational incidents, control breaks, and process failures. Ensure documented handoffs and controls exist across all critical workflows, especially where services are outsourced. <br><br>Regulatory accountability<br><br>Maintain an operating model that supports safe retail client servicing, onboarding, trading, payments, reconciliations, and support. Ensure all outsourced and interdependent service providers are governed through clear SLAs, oversight routines, escalation paths, and documented controls. Maintain operational readiness for new client phases, product launches, or platform expansions. Ensure the firm can evidence operational resilience, incident response, and recovery capability to internal governance and regulators. Provide board-ready reporting on capacity, service quality, incidents, remediation, and operational risk trends. <br><br>Reserved matters and escalation rights<br><br>No new client growth phase may proceed without documented operational readiness sign-off. No new vendor, platform integration, or outsourced critical service may go live without testing, control validation, and approval. Material operational incidents, repeated SLA breaches, failed reconciliations, or control gaps must be escalated immediately to senior management and relevant committees. The Head of Operations may recommend suspension of onboarding, trading, or service activity where operational risk is not acceptably controlled. Material resilience or continuity weaknesses must be reported with remediation timelines and ownership. Operational evidence supporting regulator-facing submissions must be reviewed and approved through the firmʼs governance process. <br><br>Interfaces With Compliance<br><br>Operations owns execution, process control, resilience, and service delivery. Compliance owns regulatory interpretation, compliance monitoring, policy advice, and challenge. Reporting to the COO, this leadership role will be responsible for defining and maintaining residential operating standards, ensuring exceptional owner experiences, and driving consistency, quality, governance, and financial oversight across all Aman Group Residences. In addition, the role will oversee residential governance frameworks, including Homeowners Associations (HOAs), condominium associations and similar owner-led entities, ensuring effective management, regulatory compliance, transparent communication, and alignment with Aman’s brand standards across the global portfolio.<br><br>Working closely with the Residences, Development, Sales, Legal, Finance, and Hotel Operations teams, the successful candidate will also play a key role in shaping the operational foundations of new residential projects from concept through to opening, ensuring every Aman and Janu residence reflects the brand’s renowned service standards, strong community stewardship, and long-term value proposition.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br><br>Develop, document, and maintain the Aman Residences operating standards across resort-integrated and urban formats. Lead pre-opening planning for new residential openings, from countdown through to stabilization. Establish HOA and residential governance frameworks during the development and pre-opening phases, ensuring a seamless transition to ongoing operations. Define service scope, staffing models, resident experience, amenity programming, and residence care in keeping with the wider Aman brand philosophy. Oversee residential operations across all managed properties, establishing measurable service standards and a regular program of quality reviews. Introduce structured measurement of owner satisfaction and lead the response to its findings. Guide and support Residence Managers and property leadership teams, acting as the senior point of reference for residential operational matters. Lead the operational oversight of Homeowners Associations (HOAs), condominium associations, and comparable residential governance structures, ensuring effective administration, owner engagement, and alignment with brand standards. Provide strategic guidance on community governance, association budgets, reserve funds, service charge structures, board relations, and regulatory compliance. Foster strong relationships with owners, association boards, and resident committees, ensuring transparent communication and effective resolution of operational and community matters. Hold complete oversight of residential rental operations globally. Lead the implementation of the residential rental program globally. Review project designs from an operational perspective, advising on back-of-house provision, staffing flows, amenity planning, and long-term community management requirements. Provide operational input to management agreement discussions in partnership with the Development and Legal teams. Lend expertise for all new residential property openings for Aman and Janu Residences when required, typically three to four years prior to official project opening.<br><br>Requirements:<br><br>A minimum of 15 years' experience in luxury hospitality, branded residences, or high-end residential operations, including at least five years leading across multiple properties or regions. At least five years within luxury branded residential developments or a directly comparable branded-residences business, with residence owners as the principal client. Demonstrated experience working with Homeowners Associations (HOAs), condominium associations, strata organisations or similar owner-governed residential entities, including board engagement and community governance. Strong financial acumen, with direct experience of budgets specific to residential services, including service charge construction, cost allocation, reserve planning, capital expenditure forecasting, and financial reporting to owners and association boards. Experience of both resort-integrated and urban residential formats is an advantage, as is pre-opening experience on a residential or mixed-use project. Familiarity with residential management agreement structures, governance documentation, and owner association frameworks is highly desirable. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust with ultra-high-net-worth homeowners, resident boards, developers, and operational teams. A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or comparable postgraduate qualification is preferred.
