Job Description<br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for Senior Construction Superintendents – Civil (3 Nos) to support the successful delivery of a major project within our Construction team. The successful candidates will provide field leadership and oversight for all civil construction activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements. The role requires extensive site-based construction experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in managing contractors and multidisciplinary construction teams on large-scale oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, or industrial projects.<br><br>Responsibilities<br><br>Lead and supervise all civil construction activities on site, ensuring safe and efficient execution of work. Ensure civil works are performed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements. Monitor contractor performance and construction progress to ensure project milestones and objectives are achieved. Coordinate site activities involving earthworks, excavation, foundations, concrete structures, underground utilities, roads, drainage systems, paving works, and structural civil works. Review and approve construction work packs, method statements, risk assessments, and lifting plans related to civil activities. Conduct routine site inspections and audits to verify quality, productivity, safety compliance, and adherence to project requirements. Identify and resolve field construction issues and coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure timely resolution. Support construction planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and forecasting activities. Interface effectively with engineering, procurement, quality, commissioning, and client representatives to facilitate smooth project execution. Monitor contractor manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity and construction performance. Ensure timely completion of inspections, testing activities, punch list closure, and mechanical completion requirements associated with civil systems. Participate in site meetings, safety reviews, progress reviews, and construction coordination meetings. Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to construction supervisors and junior team members.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Bachelor of Engineering in Civil. Minimum 15 years of experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects., being in a similar role for at least 5 years Extensive experience supervising major civil construction works, including:Site preparation and earthworks Excavation and trenching Reinforced concrete structures Foundations and equipment foundations Roads and paving works Drainage and underground utility systems Structural civil construction Strong knowledge of international civil engineering codes, standards, and construction best practices. Proven experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and large site construction teams. Demonstrated commitment to HSE excellence and safe construction practices. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, construction schedules, and quality requirements. Preferred Previous experience on large-scale greenfield and brownfield PMC projects in the Middle East. Experience working on ADNOC, major IOC, or EPC projects. Familiarity with construction management and digital project execution systems. Professional certifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Project Management. Develop project dashboards, S-curves, manpower histograms, productivity reports, and KPI reports. Support management reviews by providing schedule performance analysis. Generate earned value reports and schedule performance indicators.<br><br>Risk & Change Management<br><br>Perform delay analysis and schedule risk assessments. Evaluate the impact of change orders, scope changes, and unforeseen events. Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and supporting documentation. Participate in risk workshops and mitigation planning.<br><br>Coordination & Stakeholder Management<br><br>Interface with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management teams. Coordinate with ADNOC Offshore representatives and contractors regarding planning and progress issues. Participate in project review meetings and management presentations. Ensure planning data is accurately reflected across all project disciplines.<br><br>Commissioning & Handover Support<br><br>Develop commissioning and system completion schedules.
