<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p><br><p>The Telecom Site Engineer for substation projects is responsible for supervising and executing all telecommunication and SCADA-related works at site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, communication standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. This role involves installation, testing, integration, and commissioning of telecom systems such as SDH/MPLS equipment, RTUs, SCADA systems, teleprotection systems, CCTV, access control, PA systems, networking equipment, and associated communication infrastructure. The engineer plays a critical role in ensuring reliable communication between substations and control centers while coordinating with clients, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams for successful project execution.</p><br>Key Responsibilities:1. Site Execution & Supervision<ul><li>Supervise day-to-day telecom and communication system installation activities at the substation site.</li><li>Ensure installation of telecom equipment such as SDH/MPLS routers, switches, RTUs, teleprotection systems, CCTV, access control systems, PA systems, and associated cabling as per approved drawings and specifications.</li><li>Monitor contractor activities and ensure proper deployment of manpower, tools, and resources.</li><li>Verify installation quality, cable routing, termination, labeling, and system integration works.</li><li>Ensure all telecom activities are completed in accordance with project schedules and milestones.</li></ul>2. Installation & Commissioning<ul><li>Oversee installation, testing, configuration, and commissioning of telecom and SCADA systems.</li><li>Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and specialists during equipment installation and system integration.</li><li>Conduct pre-commissioning checks and ensure communication links are operational and stable.</li><li>Assist in troubleshooting communication failures, network issues, and interface problems during commissioning.</li><li>Maintain records of testing, commissioning activities, and acceptance reports.</li></ul>3. Quality Control & Inspection<ul><li>Ensure all telecom works comply with project specifications, approved method statements, client requirements, and quality standards.</li><li>Conduct routine inspections and prepare inspection reports.</li><li>Raise site observations and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.</li><li>Coordinate with QA/QC engineers for inspections, testing, and approvals.</li><li>Verify delivered telecom materials and equipment against approved technical specifications.</li></ul>4. Coordination & Communication<ul><li>Coordinate with electrical, protection, SCADA, and civil teams to ensure smooth execution of telecom activities.</li><li>Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients regarding telecom installations and testing.</li><li>Participate in daily, weekly, and progress review meetings and provide updates on telecom works.</li><li>Resolve site issues and technical conflicts in coordination with the engineering and commissioning teams.</li><li>Support interface management between substation equipment and control centers.</li></ul>5. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)<ul><li>Ensure all telecom activities are performed in compliance with project HSE requirements and safety regulations.</li><li>Enforce the use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.</li><li>Conduct safety inspections and participate in toolbox talks.</li><li>Identify potential risks associated with telecom installations and implement mitigation measures.</li><li>Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.</li></ul>6. experience within ICT, telecommunications, systems integration, managed services, or enterprise technology environments.- Strong experience in solution architecture involving OSS, ITSM, ITOM, The role involves managing mission-critical enterprise environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance across production and disaster recovery sites. Key Responsibilities<br><br>Administer, configure, maintain, and support IBM AIX environments across production and DR sites. Manage IBM Power Systems infrastructure (Power8, Power9, Power10). Perform LPAR provisioning, migration, administration, and lifecycle management. Administer VIOS servers, Power VM virtualization, Shared Processor Pools, and virtual I/O configurations. Manage and maintain Hardware Management Consoles (HMCs). Implement, administer, and troubleshoot Power HA clusters and GPFS (IBM Storage Scale). Perform AIX TL/SP upgrades, firmware upgrades, patch management, and security remediation. Administer and maintain NIM infrastructure (OS deployment, alternate disk installation, mksysb recovery). Monitor system performance, perform advanced tuning, and capacity planning. Develop automation scripts using Shell/Korn Shell and Ansible. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, hardware, and OS issues. Collaborate with application, database, storage, network, and cybersecurity teams. Participate in disaster recovery planning, failover testing, and business continuity exercises. Provide 24×7 operational support and participate in on-call rotations. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and implement preventive actions.
