Authorities:</p></li><li><p>Encourage safety awareness throughout project operations.</p></li><li><p>Liaise with the Project Manager and Client HSE Department on all HSE aspects of the contract.</p></li><li><p>Ensure the contract-specific HSE Plan is effectively communicated and implemented.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li><p>Key Outputs: The HSE Advisor is responsible for:</p></li><li><p>Identify potential site hazards and update the site-specific HSE Plan accordingly.</p></li><li><p>Maintain the HSE Management System and Project HSE Plan as living documents.</p></li><li><p>Initiate the HSE Case, defining its scope, cost, resources, interfaces, and responsibilities.</p></li><li><p>Act as the HSE liaison between departments and the Project Manager.</p></li><li><p>Promote proactive HSE management practices among staff and subcontractors.</p></li><li><p>Provide technical HSE input, including ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) and HEMP (Hazard and Effects Management Process).</p></li><li><p>Implement health and safety strategies tailored to operational risks.</p></li><li><p>Conduct risk assessments and develop operational procedures to mitigate hazards.</p></li><li><p>Lead site inspections ensuring safety policies and procedures are being followed.</p></li><li><p>Deliver in-house training sessions for management and workers on health and safety risks.</p></li><li><p>Keep records of inspections, incidents, and statistics; generate reports and recommendations.</p></li><li><p>Stay updated on health and safety legislation and best practices.</p></li><li><p>Develop and issue monthly reports, newsletters, and bulletins.</p></li><li><p>Manage and coordinate the safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.</p></li><li><p>Provide advice on specialist areas such as fire safety, noise, machinery safeguarding, and occupational health.</p></li><li><p>Perform other related duties as assigned by the reporting manager.<br></p><ul><li><p>Qualifications:</p></li><li><p>Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Health & Safety or Environmental Studies (desirable)</p></li><li><p>NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (essential). Skills/Knowledge:</p></li><li><p>High standard of written and verbal communication</p></li><li><p>Ability to explain complex safety concepts clearly across different levels of the organization</p></li><li><p>Strong negotiating skills, with diplomacy and patience to influence management on safety compliance</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of safety legislation and codes of practice</p></li><li><p>Analytical and investigative mindset for identifying risks and trends</p></li><li><p>Strong IT skills for preparing reports and analyzing data</p></li><li><p>Ability to engage with and lead teams effectively at all levels</p></li><li><p>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines</p></li><li><p>Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent) and project tools</p></li></ul></li></ul>
