The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for an adjunct teaching opportunity commencing in Fall Semester 2027 in the area of computer science and engineering. Experience in the American model of higher education is highly desirable.<br><br>The applicant is required to have a PhD in Computer Engineering or a closely related field and show evidence of a significant teaching portfolio. The candidate is expected to teach one to two courses per semester at the AUS campus in Sharjah. <p>The Reliability Engineering Maintenance Planner is responsible for asset performance management and spares management, preventative/condition based maintenance planning. They are the site SME for the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)<br>As the RME Planner, you will develop maintenance plans and schedules using recurring preventive maintenance activities, predictive maintenance data, and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Your work will include screening APM (Asset Performance Management) work orders, auditing equipment to document work requirements and quality, and estimating labor hours, materials, tools, and equipment for all assigned work orders to support a proactive, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) program. You will collaborate directly with maintenance management, service technicians, and vendors to plan, coordinate, and schedule proactive maintenance activities during available downtime windows. You will also ensure that spare parts are ordered and maintained in stock for both planned and emergency repairs.<br>Key job responsibilities<br> - Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software, train the local engineering team in its use and escalate issues as required to the AMET team. <br> - Ensure the system is run in line within amazon standards and participate in regional projects and improvement programs to roll out new functionality, procedures, scheduling or reports. <br> - Ensure site level equipment, spare parts and minimum holding levels are correctly recorded in the system in order to ensure technicians have all parts they need. <br> - Compile equipment information, performance metrics and machine histories and make recommendations for improvements based on their findings. <br> - Manage spare parts stock levels, place and track orders as required. Any WO without good data quality must be reopened if required and flagged to the owners, so they can modify the data accordingly. RMEP should highlight any examples of non-compliance regarding 100% booked labor to drive alignment with company policy<br>- Discuss activity of the day and resource planning. Including projects, vendors on site, PMs, and other MHE related activities such as overdue work from previous day.<br>- PM and System Check Inspection: in order to ensure the quality of the PMs and System Checks (SC) is reaching our expectations, a 15 min. survey must be performed 3 times a week. The PM/SC must be from WOs completed in the last 24 hours. <p>One of the key flagship products of the division is Oson Neo, a state—of-the-art digital fintech solution developing in a regulated environment (DFSA). To bring the product to a new stage and ensure its full technological independence, we are creating a dedicated, sovereign engineering team from scratch, led by the Head of Engineering.
Responsibilities
• Development and Product Management: Full technical responsibility for the architecture, stability and continuous development of the Oson Neo fintech product. Interact with the Head of Product to synchronize the product roadmap and technical priorities.
• Building a team from scratch: Designing the target structure and processes of a new engineering team. Independent recruitment, adaptation, and development of technical specialists (starting with backend and integration engineers). Formation of a strong engineering culture (code review, CI/CD, quality standards).
• Integrations and vendors: Technical coordination and management of integration processes with BaaS providers, partner bank (Emirates NBD) and Visa (Visa issuing) payment system.
• Regulatory compliance: Fruitful cooperation with the Compliance department to ensure full compliance of the technical architecture and data security with the strict requirements of the DFSA financial regulator, and preparation of the system for audits.
• Cross-team partnership: Diplomatic coordination with the group's CTO on issues of common standards and the holding's infrastructure to maintain a balance of interests and avoid duplication, without operational subordination to the current technical structure.</p><p>• Experience and leadership: More than 7 years of total experience in software development, including at least 3 years as a technical leader (Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead). Having successful practical experience building and scaling engineering teams from scratch or almost from scratch.
• Fintech expertise: A deep understanding of the specifics of Fintech and the payment sector. Experience working with payment system architecture, integrations with traditional banks, IBAN providers, and BaaS platforms. The experience of working with core banking/wallet solutions (for example, Crassula or analogues) and Visa/Mastercard issuing processes will be a great advantage.
• Regulated environment: Practical experience in designing and maintaining systems operating in highly regulated jurisdictions (DFSA, FCA, MAS or similar). Understanding data security standards and auditing.
• Technical stack and architecture: High level of personal technical competence. The ability to dive deeply into code and architectural solutions, act as an expert for the team, and not just perform managerial functions.
• Required knowledge of Russian and English languages! knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.</p>
<h2><u>RESPONSIBILITIES</u></h2><ul><li>Defines the engineering organization charts, staffing and personnel roles with engineering discipline departments;</li><li>Defines provisional manpower histograms and controls the qualification of assigned engineering personnel;</li><li>Ensures the technical part of the Contract review;</li><li>Participates to the induction of the engineering team to contract/project requirements;</li><li>Provides instructions to the engineering team through project engineering instructions and procedures;</li><li>Ensures the issue, the validation and the maintenance of the project equipment lists and /or other key engineering documents as applicable to each project;</li><li>Ensures effective interdisciplinary coordination in particular through weekly meetings.
