The role is focused on field-level supervision, ensuring safe execution of electrical testing, energization, and system handover in accordance with approved procedures, schedules, and HSE requirements.</p> <p>The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Electrical Superintendent and Engineers, overseeing technicians and contractors while coordinating closely with construction and commissioning teams.</p> <h4>Key responsibilities</h4> <h4>Pre-commissioning supervision</h4> <ul> <li>Supervise day-to-day electrical pre-commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures and work packs.</li> <li>Verify construction completion and readiness for pre-commissioning through site walkdowns and inspections.</li> <li>Oversee execution of cable meggering, continuity checks, earthing inspections, and visual inspections.</li> <li>Ensure electrical installations are compliant with drawings, specifications, and applicable standards prior to commissioning.</li> <li>Identify, record, and report punch list items and construction deficiencies.</li> </ul> <h4>Commissioning & testing</h4> <ul> <li>Supervise commissioning and functional testing of LV and HV electrical systems as per commissioning plans.</li> <li>Support controlled energization activities under approved permit-to-work and isolation procedures.</li> <li>Oversee testing of motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, and emergency power systems.</li> <li>Ensure test results are correctly recorded and submitted in commissioning documentation.</li> <li>Support troubleshooting of electrical issues during commissioning and initial start-up.</li> </ul> <h4>Safety & HSE compliance</h4> <ul> <li>Enforce strict compliance with project HSE requirements, electrical safety rules, and energization controls.</li> <li>Supervise safe implementation of (LOTO) and electrical isolation procedures.</li> <li>Conduct toolbox talks and on-the-job safety briefings for electrical crews.</li> <li>Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses to commissioning management.</li> </ul> <h4>Workforce & contractor supervision</h4> <ul> <li>Supervise electrical technicians, craftsmen, and subcontractor personnel during commissioning activities.</li> <li>Ensure manpower, tools, and test equipment are available and fit for purpose.</li> <li>Monitor work quality and productivity, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.</li> <li>Coordinate daily work priorities with Engineers and Superintendents.</li> </ul> <h4>Coordination & interfaces</h4> <ul> <li>Coordinate activities with construction teams to ensure timely handover of systems.</li> <li>Interface with instrumentation, mechanical, and operations teams for integrated commissioning activities.</li> <li>Support vendor representatives during specialist commissioning, SATs, and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Communicate progress, constraints, and technical issues to senior commissioning personnel.</li> </ul> <h4>Documentation & reporting</h4> <ul> <li>Ensure completion and accuracy of pre-commissioning and commissioning check sheets and test records.</li> <li>Assist in compilation of completion dossiers and handover packages.</li> <li>Support punch list tracking and clearance to meet commissioning and handover milestones.</li> <li>Provide daily updates on work <li>Diploma or technical certificate in electrical engineering or equivalent.</li> <li>Trade background with strong commissioning experience will also be considered.</li> </ul> <h4>Experience</h4> <ul> <li>Minimum 8–12 years of experience in electrical works on large industrial or energy projects.</li> <li>Proven hands-on supervisory experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.</li> <li>Experience in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power projects is preferred.</li> <li>Familiarity with international electrical standards (IEC, IEEE, NFPA).</li> </ul> <h4>Skills & competencies</h4> <ul> <li>Strong practical and supervisory skills in electrical commissioning activities.</li> <li>Solid understanding of electrical safety and energization procedures.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single line diagrams.</li> <li>Good troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.</li> <li>Effective communication skills in a multicultural site environment.</li> <li>Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.</li> </ul> <h4>Work conditions</h4> <ul> <li>Site-based role in a heavy industrial construction environment.</li> <li>May involve shift work, extended hours, and weekend coverage during critical commissioning phases.</li> <li>Ability to work in challenging site and climatic conditions.</li>
