We're currently hiring an Oracle Functional Consultant for a 6-month contract based in the UAE.Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle SCM and Procurement modulesArabic speaker (mandatory)Previous Oracle implementation and support experience is highly preferred

Experience Level: Mid-Senior (5+ years total IT experience, 3+ years in VBCS/Oracle Fusion extensions) Employment Type: FTC – 6 Months Availability: Immediate joiners preferred; maximum 15 days' notice
Job Summary : We are seeking an Oracle Fusion Finance Extensions Developer with strong expertise in Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) to design and build custom applications, UI extensions, and process automations that extend Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials. The ideal candidate will bridge functional Finance requirements (GL, AP, AR, FA, Expenses, Procurement) with technical extension development, delivering custom screens, approval workflows, and embedded apps that integrate seamlessly with standard Fusion functionality.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop custom applications and UI extensions using Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) to address Finance-specific business requirements not met by standard Fusion functionality. Build embedded VBCS extensions within Fusion Financials pages (e.g., custom fields, action menus, embedded components on GL, AP, AR, FA, Expenses pages). Develop standalone VBCS applications for Finance use cases such as approval dashboards, reconciliation tools, custom data entry forms, and management reporting apps. Integrate VBCS applications with Oracle Fusion Financials using REST APIs, Business Objects, and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for data read/write operations. Configure and extend Application Composer objects (custom fields, business rules, groovy scripts) to support VBCS extensions and Finance process automation. Design and implement approval workflows and business logic using BPM/Approval Management extensions tied to Finance transactions (invoices, expense reports, journal approvals). Work closely with Finance functional consultants to gather requirements for process gaps, custom validations, and UI enhancements within AP, AR, GL, FA, and Expenses modules. Build responsive, user-friendly UI layouts using Oracle JET components within VBCS, ensuring consistency with Fusion's Redwood design standards. Develop and maintain REST-based integrations between VBCS apps and Fusion Financials REST APIs (e.g., Payables Invoices, Journals, Expense Reports APIs). Manage security and role-based access within VBCS applications, aligning with Fusion data roles/duty roles for Finance users. Test, debug, and troubleshoot VBCS extensions across Dev/Test/Prod environments, ensuring upgrade-safe design (avoiding disruption from Oracle's quarterly updates). Package, migrate, and deploy VBCS applications and extensions across environments using Oracle's migration tools. Document technical designs, API mappings, and application architecture for custom Finance extensions. Collaborate with Finance stakeholders during UAT to validate extension functionality against business requirements. Monitor Oracle's quarterly release notes for VBCS/Application Composer changes and proactively assess impact on existing extensions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of overall IT experience, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) development. Strong functional understanding of Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, Expenses, Cash Management, Procurement). Proficiency in Oracle JET (Java Script Extension Toolkit) components used within VBCS. Experience consuming and integrating Oracle Fusion REST APIs (Financials-specific endpoints) within VBCS applications. Hands-on experience with Application Composer, including custom objects, fields, page composer, and Groovy scripting. Understanding of Fusion Financials data model and business objects relevant to Finance extensions. Experience building approval workflows using BPM Worklist/Approval Management extensions for Finance transactions. Familiarity with Oracle Fusion security (data roles, duty roles) as applied to custom extensions. Strong Java Script, HTML5, and CSS skills for building responsive VBCS UIs. Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for backend integration support (preferred). Ability to translate Finance business requirements into scalable extension designs. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across VBCS, Application Composer, and Fusion Financials integration points.
Good to Have Experience building embedded VBCS extensions specifically within Fusion Financials pages (not just standalone apps). Experience with FBDI/ESS jobs for backend data processes tied to extensions. Knowledge of BI Publisher/OTBI for complementary Finance reporting needs. Experience with multi-pillar extensions (Finance + Procurement or Finance + Projects). Oracle Cloud certifications (VBCS, Fusion Applications Technical, or OIC).
Working Knowledge Expected
Visual Builder Studio (VB Studio) as Oracle's current vehicle for Fusion extensions: App UIs, express vs. advanced mode, Git-based workspaces and pipeline deployment, and how it differs from standalone VBCS instances. Redwood extensibility patterns: extending Redwood pages in an upgrade-safe way through VB Studio, and knowing when legacy Page Composer personalization still applies to classic pages. Secure Fusion REST consumption: OAuth2/JWT via Oracle identity domains, least-privilege integration users, and handling pagination and API limits on Financials endpoints. Quarterly-update discipline for extensions: regression checklists, deprecation monitoring, and safe rollback of extension deployments.
When Applying, Your CV Must Explicitly Cover
List the VBCS / VB Studio applications or page extensions you personally built, stating which were standalone apps and which were embedded Fusion page extensions. Evidence each skill you claim with a named project or engagement; skills lists without project detail carry no weight. State your notice period explicitly (joiners within 15 days are preferred). List relevant Oracle Cloud certifications with the year obtained.
Soft Skills Strong ability to bridge functional Finance requirements with technical extension design. Detail-oriented, especially around approval logic, security, and Finance data validations. Good communication skills to work directly with Finance business users and functional consultants. Proactive in identifying upgrade risks for custom extensions with each quarterly release. Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative delivery environments.
